I have a 2000 Dodge Ram 24 valve 5spd with a number of power mods and lots of chrome etc. I know that could be the problem but doubt it. LoL

*** PROBLEM... THE PAC-BRAKE SEEMS TO HANG UP OR STICK NOW AND THEN MOST OF THE TIME WHEN IT IS COLD ( SOMETIMES) OR I GO TO USE IT AND GOT TO STOP AND SET THE RESET BUTTON AND THEN IT WILL WORK FOR A LONG TIME. I HAVE CLEANED THE ENG ABOUT EVERY THREE MONTS AND THE SPRAY WD-40 OR SOME OIL ON EVERYTHING THAT NEED IT AND HIT THE PAC-BRAKE WITH A SQUIRT. SO IF ANYONE HAS ANY FEED BACK PLEASE SEND IT MY WAY... . ONE MORE THIN I SEE THERE IS AN AJUSTMENT ON THE TOP END OF THE ROD ,IS THERE A WAY TO TIGHING THEM UP? most OF THE TIME IT WORKS GREAT AND I USE IT A LOT.

THANK CHROME-TURBO

Don't adjust anything. That is set at the factory and never requires any change. It would only change how much the butterfly does or does not close.

Mine did the same thing and I was initially told by PacBrake that I needed to replace the unit. Ya, right! I then got some exhaust brake lube, took the brake off, cleaned and lubed it and put it back on. Has worked like a charm since. On occasion I put a drop or two of oil on the actuator fork pivot point and the actuator shaft. I also wash down the engine area. Not because of chrome, just because I don't like gettin' all dirty when I do something on it.

I think the helpful hero was Jelag who got me the Pacbrake lube. A bottle will last about 7-800 years I believe so you can share with all of your other buddies. Your signature does not list where your at, but if you are close by I could share a few drops.

Mine stuck and I pulled the plunger out and cleaned it. Works fine. This has happened several times. I guess condensation gets in there and makes it stick. Never had the butterfly stick in the pipe.

I had the same sticking problem with my PacBrake for about two years before it just stuck, until the ignition was turned off then back on. I talked to PacBrake both face to face and on the phone. I took it to a dealer they recommended. Last year at May Madness one of their Reps was there so I talked#@$%! to him. He said that the butterfly shaft was worn, I said I didn't think so I and I didn't think I should have to pay about $200. per year to keep it working. He sent me a whole new unit FREEOo. It has worked great to this point. I will be at May Madness 09 if you have any questions H Westfall
