Getting ready to install new pacbrake along with all new 4 inch exhaust. My question is does anyone know of a 4 inch down tube that matches up to the 4 inch pacbrake? Or do I have to buy a 4 inch adaptor from pacbrake and cut and weld it on a new 4 inch down pipe? Just wondering if anyone else has come across this and had a easy solution. Thanks for any input.

I may be wrong but I didnt think Pacbrake makes a larger diameter housing to accept a 4" flange. That said, I also thought most 4" exhausts mate up to the regular flange outlets of the turbo or exhaust brakes.

When I did my Banks 4" exhaust brake years ago, they had a matching 4" down pipe, and I ended up getting their 4" intermediate pipe also to match up to my Magnaflow 4" system. So Pacbrake should have the answers for you. SNOKING

So I've been doing a lot of research and turns out Pacbrake never designed a 4 inch down pipe that matches up to their brake for this years application. They only have a 4 inch stainless adaptor that needs to be welded onto a 4 inch down pipe. The Banks down pipe that is currently on my truck has held up really well. The Banks brake not so much, that stopped working years ago. I think I will purchase a new Banks 4 inch down pipe cut and modify it with the Pacbrake adaptor. Thanks for the help on this.

My Banks 4" turbo mounted exhaust brake has been working to over 10 years. The solenoid has to be cleaned and lubed once in a while however. So what failed on yours? SNOKING

The shaft that goes through the brake that holds the butterfly got very sloppy and eventually failed. Thankfully it is stuck in the open position. It did work flawlessly for over eight years. I think it just wore out due to constant use. The whole exhaust system is rotten and has seen better days. That is why I am starting with everything new from brake back. I see MBRP has a stainless 4 inch down pipe. Probably going to go with that considering the adaptor from Pacbrake is stainless. I have someone who can weld stainless for me. Seems like the right thing to do.
