Went to O'Reilly's today and got paint for the gauge pod (pillar). I had called the Dodge dealer and they told me a week or so. I ordered a week ago and today when I called they told me it would be another week or so. So much for for the Dodge parts man!

They mixed the paint at O'Reilly's according to the paint specs. , also recommended a plastic adhesion promoter before painting. I have bought other paint and products from them and it has always been right. Going to paint the pillar in the morning. Thought the rest of you might want to know an alternative for the paint.

Bob, don't know? The guy told me it was the smart thing to do. It was only a few $'s. It is made for prepping plastic trim, plastic bumpers, fiberglass, etc. It bonds with the paint to make a permanent combo of paint and plastic. He told me that without it, the paint would look good, but in a month or so if you hit it with a ring on your finger, etc. , it may scratch etc. He told me you could paint interior or exterior plastic if you used it and it would be right!

My partner in the shop told me it was the right thing to use. He is a paint GURU! Hell, it's only a couple of $'s, it's worth the peace of mine if nothing else.

Works for me. I heard this same thing from some others. Just wondering if others also did not use it and had any problems. After waht we spend on our trucks and other stuff a few bucks to look good is easy!!!!:D

I really recommend the SEM brand stuff. Works well.

Bob I've got a can I'll let you use if you want to get together again. I've done two pods and still have plenty left.
