many thanks to gsbrockman and all of TDR I ordered the parts to add the under hood light to a 2015 and 2016 tradesman, I will update after parts arrive, looks to be plug and play...

It sucks that the old drop light and cord reel that My 89 had from the factory is no longer available. It was nice to have a retractable drop light when my friends Ford's and Chevy's would break down. That cord was about 18' if I remember right.

Hey....I remember that on my 1991 truck, forgot all about it. It was a nice feature.

Hey aftermarket you listening? How about making a work drop light with a retractable cord, only with LED's, like the 1st gen Dodge Ram's had.
