Another reality that has to mentioned is this...as RAM gains market share the parts stream will suffer...
We are going through that right now, Freightliner popped over the 40% market share hump several months ago and it is really straining the flow of replacement parts. We are constantly begging, searching other dealers, etc....A daily process now.
Remember that there are two streams of parts, production and aftermarket. When the assembly lines are running at full tilt production demands a huge amounts of parts. The aftermarket stream suffers. If we order a new truck today we might get it built by November if we are lucky. Nobody wants to take material away from production when the plants are that busy.
Vendors are trying to ramp up but it is not an overnight process.
I tell myself this...."If this job were easy everybody would be doing it".....
