How long are recalls good for?

I fail to believe that the Cummins pulls THAT MUCH better than the current PSD or Duramax... You Dodge guys are so silly...

(I say that tongue-in-cheek--I'm planning to order an '06 Ram 3500/Cummins sometime between January and May).

they do when they have twins! even better at high altitude. :-laf

If Dmax is a drug, and you are hooked, then statements like these certainly point to the fact that Dmax is a hallucinogenic drug.

Boy all the tuff truck talk from people so far away

I've posted the rear bumper of my truck here ,catch me if you can,I reside in CT :p

The D-Max and PSD do put up good #'s. The question becomes reliability; Do they hold up?

I've run aganist a couple of programed PSD's and they really do well at higher RPM's, not off the line. The D-MAX guys are starting to field a new generation of hi HP trucks. Just watch the tracks and pullers, our Cummins is is slowly losing ground to them.

I will still chose to disagree with MACKIN; because it is better to argue with ingnorance than to be ingnorant of the arguement. Mike

Well... ... ... Er... ... ... Um... ... ..... not exactly. Id agree if we were comparing lets say, floor mats, cup holders, ashtrays, or the like. There really is only one way to take out a Cummins powered Ram, and that's to out pull or out haul one.
Speed is real cute, but it's also fleeting since any $600 motorcycle can make us all look like geriatrics.

That said, if you want to compare trucks... . REAL trucks... . drop 3 yards of gravel in the bed, hitch it to a trailer, and drag it up a mountain. Given that test, I'll take a Cummins that's broke, over any of the wannabees.

Bring it!!!

Additionally.....

C'mon MACKIN, you can pretend all you want that you're here to defend some forum/'member/rivalry girly drama crap, ... ..... the truth is so plain it's almost comical... .

Even though your D-max is fast, you still feel inferior to the industrial grunt of a mere 5. 9L six shooter.
Scary? Yes, but no need to wet your Garanimals.
The reality is that you long to be accepted by us, due to the inevitability of your truck (well nevermind, we'll call it a truck for aguements sake) eventually needing a pull out of the mud puddle in front of your local Ace Hardware.

It's OK... . We understand. ... ..... We're sympathetic, and wouldn't leave a fellow trucker stranded. No less in 2 inches wet grass, severely loaded down with such atrocities as spare tires, worthless decals, a bankrupt company, or the immeasurable stress of deciding whether or not you're a Chevy, or a GMC in drag... ... . Depending on whos looking of course.

We'll drag yer candy azz home anyway... . Sadly enough on your roof, given the last time I pulled up next to a D-max, it flipped over on it's back and pee'd all over it's belly. :D

I am wondering if Mack has seen the connecting rod pics. Incase you didn't see it the Cummins is the big dog. Look at the little guy on the left, ain't he cute.

Keep your chubby I'll keep my Cummins voted one of the top ten in the world, only medium duty in the market between the big 3. I have to agree with the earlier post about loading them down and seeing who would come out on top. Bottom line here is diesel envy, plain and simple. #ad

Connecting rod photo

It's not who big ,... It's how. ah never mind.

Photo is old your looking at a 6. 5 rod ,lame'o.

I didn't expect this to be a shut out ,but I'll se you in the rearview boys. :D

I don't really think Isuzu started putting connecting rods bigger than that in the dmax. It just goes to show the proof is in the puddin. Look at it this way, an I6 with around 49% fewer parts than a V8 and as I understand it all three engines weigh about the same fully dressed. With that said which one do you think is built solid or as Chubby says "Like a rock".

hey mac so how fast is your d-max?? what are your 1/4 mile times and your weight #'s?

ya know the proof is in the pudding. just cus you say it's fast... . dont make it fast!

my friends d-max is putting 660 hp to the ground just a tad more than you.

oh yea the first motor when boom at the dragstrip at high 13's

but the second one is professional grade

I like the idea of loading the three trucks down. Let's go one step further and have each of the trucks with at least 500,000 miles on them!

Oh, I guess they'd all three be Dodges anyways then! Lol

i bought mine with 304k on it certainly wouldn't of done that with a chubby or furd and been happy
