Need more information:
Vehicle year, miles, stock or not, mods?
What is it doing? When is it doing it? What have you done to correct the problem(if any)? Results of your tries?
Just for starters:
There's the most of it crabman I'm in the hunt of trying to find a pcm. Cardone said it was fried beyond repair. Maybe I did it while doing electrical tests all over the place I'm not sure.

Dealership said they won't touch a used. Only reman. But the 2 reman places I've found will send em flashed already.
I read the write up on the link that you provided. I would replace and/or correctly repair all the damage wiring & plugs first. Electronics are very very sensitive to correct voltages, resistance and grounds. I am not 100% sure where you can get the oem electrical connectors.*

I'll fix the connectors. I found em on Rockauto. How bout where can I find a pcm. I've called about every place i can find and and seems like dam near everyone out of stock.
I found one that is 1k and comes programmed and another that is 660 and I still have to get it flashed. And dealer won't flash unless truck is there which is very very difficult in my situation
Asking the same questions over and over on different forums won't change the answers. A '98 PCM for a 12 valve is a rare commodity. Re-flashing is not going to happen and isn't required anyway. Learn to do a national search on CL and keep watching e-bay. Once you find one it is roll the dice time as to it's serviceability.
I know it won't change the answers. I'm just in a timeframe bind and was trying to get convinced on what I was gonna do right at that moment. Figured some people only stick to one forum and wasn't really getting a totally clear answer. At first I thought it had to be reflashed. Then I started to read some stuff where you might not have to then in the last day or two a few people have confirmed that I'll be good with same part number and year. So I started on a used search and found one today. It'll be here in a few days. 500$. Ouch. It was pretty difficult like you said. I wasn't trying to be a pain in the as5 bud I just didn't wanna buy the wrong thing. Thanks for everyone's input. I'll update as things go on. I'm taking my truck to Toby cashion in Dallas area to get trans built up a lil bit. Still not sure if mines bad cuz of electrical issues. But I just wanna do it for peace of mind in future. When it's my dd and work truck. Pulling my camper Around the country. And putting lots of miles on at work with utility bed
$500!!! Wow. I paid $100 for my spare and a friend of mine turned me on to one for $50 so I bought it too. For that kind of money I hope it came with a guarantee.
I was thinking the same think Gary. I sold my '95 auto PCM for $125.00.
But, I have done some searching on eBay and other forums and the '96-'98 12V auto PCM's are hard to come by now. Lot's of manual ones out there but no autos. The same as "beauty", sometimes the "deal" is in the eye of the beholder....
