Piers sent this to me as part of a group of pictures on the 53 block cracks issue going on in another forum. It was referred to simply as, "A 6000rpm motor we are building. " I commented that the "laundry list" of mods must be amazing. His response was:

"As for a list..... it's about 20K long and that's before the turbo's, one of which, my cost was $3700. 00. It has forged pistons, balanced, billett cam at a little better than . 600 lift, custom pushrods and lifters, block machined out so the cam is sitting on roller bearings, stage 3 cyl. head, crank has been knifed, the pump flows over 1000 cc's of fuel & has no governor, nor AFC housing or cam plate, timing is 30 + degrees. We don't expect very much below 2800... . but from there to 6K she should pull pretty good :)"

What are them doo-hickeys on the valve covers?

What's with the billet timing case/cover?

What's with the water pump block off plate? (Is the block filled?)

Gotta love a pump that has been 'shimmed'.

Very interesting. Piers must've been burning the midnight moonshine up there in Canada.

Sexy? I'm sitting here at the computer with my pants wet. No, not what you think. I felt my chin wet and found I'm drooling on myself. Man. What an engine.

"crank has been knifed" what does that mean?

"knife edged" Meaning the crankshaft counterweights have been machined to a sharp edge to not only lighten the crank but to allow it to cut through the oil with less parasitic loss. ;)

OH MAN!! What an engine! :--) Is this for Piers or a customer? Drag or pulling? Or did they build it just to see if they could? I want to see that thing in action!

Piers always did know where to buy the best parts!!!! :-laf LOL

Reckon you will need an 1800cc pump, to feed that bad boy?
