If they gave you the "detail" sheet it will be listed on there. KC is uaully 1. 01 or so.

i drive like grandma?

Well I just put the first REAL performance enhancing equipment on my truck Friday, and I can't afford to drive my truck like I stole it. I break the bank everytime I upgrade something, so if I break anything on my beast it may be a while before it gets fixed! I don't hotrod around too much, and I drive it like I paid $35,000 for it (and I don't have $35,000 in the bank to buy another one)and I want it to last without major upgrades/overhauls necessary!

Although I must say that my truck has been at WOT more since Friday than in the first 22 months of ownership! I LIKE IT!:D

Same dyno, upgraded and went back to same stuff, months apart... . and the dyno was within 5hp, and prolly would have been "repeatable" with the same numbers if some more time was spent. Its always a good idea to try and use the same dyno if possible. Thats why I am going back to KC to test a couple of things to see how much more power it'll make (one of which is the turbo, the others I ain't saying yet ;))

While the dyno is fun, the dragstrip is even better.

Thanks Kat,

BTW what kind of dyno was that?

I didn't buy my truck to drag, so I may never see what it will do at the strip, but I love hearing/watching you guys that do! BOMB ON!

It was a Dynojet in KC. Theres a Mustang Dyno around the cornor from my house, but I don't like the operator. I didn't intend to drag my truck when i bought it either, but its just downright fun.

Mark if I can remember I will look at the approach plate for tulsa and find out what the field elevation is. Standard day is measured at sea level 29. 92 baro and 59 degrees F or 15 C... ..... FYI

FUN???

That's my problem! If I start drag racing or truck pulling, I'll end up with a twin-B1-turbo-propane-nitrous-multiple Comp/EZ-super mental-triple disc cutch MONSTER!

:--) :D :--)

Do you get the feeling that I'm having trouble convincing myself to NOT go BOMB crazy?? YOU'RE RIGHT!!

:{ :{ Oo. Oo.

on my old eth i had to change out my stock clutch at 5k miles. the southbend was working great when i sold the truck with over 35k on the clock. infact one of my friends paid to have it pulled out of my truck and put in his.

Well i guess i have you beat in one area, (wish it was the horsepower area) My stocker only lasted 1800 miles. South Bend has been holding nice ever since. i bet you are just having too much fun with that auto. You seriously thinking about coming to Ripon for the pulls. i live about 1/2 mile from where they pull, been thinking a bunch of us should meet up ahead of time.

Mark bummer on the clutch, i was hoping to compare some heat/boost numbers with you. Just got my B1 on last night, have only driven it about 30 miles, so i need to take it out and make some high speed blasts to check temps and what not. (stinkin work just gets in the way of all this fun:mad: ) Oh well maybe on my way home tonight i can get on it with the g-tech hooked up to compare with the hx35.

rubberneck

i will be at the ripon pull it's a bit of a drive, almost 1100 miles one way. i'm going to try to be in town friday morning. nowell is checking to see if i can rent the sled frday afternoon for a couple of hours to try and get my truck setup for pulling. but if that falls through we should all get together!!

jim

that would be sweet, let me know if you get the sled, i would love to watch. No pulling unless i magically get a twin disc clutch before then;)

Rubberneck,

Temps seem to be down 400* on pulls but 100+* higher while criuising. Before running down the hwy was 600-650 now is 750-900 but where boost used to start to rise at 75mph, i cruise at 80 and make very little boost. I have to keep the PEC on 1/1 to keep the smoke down. It makes about 380hp in 1/1 though and spools about like stock. Its great in 1/1 it drives like stock just way more power. Runs like they should from the factory.

I could not be happier with the behavior of the truck. The DD3/PEC on a HX35 had a huge surge as you roll into the throttle and hp/psi boost really fell off above 32psi. at max before I managed to get about 40-42psi. With the B1 I make more power at 36 psi than at 42 before. You can really tell the difference in the torque in 6th the clutch just will not hold over 2200rpm. I managed to get it to cut loose on 1/1 at about 2800 yesterday. Boost was getting near 40psi.

The new clutch and hood should be in by friday when I get home.

Later,

Mark

Mark- can you tell what has happened to your mileage yet? Your higher egt while cruising is probably from lower boost at lower rpms. I would think that this would lower your mileage (less air=richer mixture and higher egt). Any mpg info yet?

I got 15mpg after . . 1/2 tank hwy PEC on 5/5. . 8 dyno pulls, atrip home and a couple of power runs.

all in all I'd say better. This tank knowing what I know about guage pos and mileage i'm getting 16 driving like an idiot and running 80 instead of 70.

Beast2B---glad to see that you've kicked that urge to "not " BOMB out the door and are heading forward---we need mor guys to get into the sled pulling,1/4 mile racing games--now don't give me "I ain't gonna do it" routine --you can't, won't be able to help yourself so just admit it and go for it:D:D... . chris

Mark, interesting on your cruising down the freeway temps, i have actually seen that mine have been lower than with the hx35. At 80mph i used to pull 10-11 psi with hx35 now at 80mph i see 6 psi. I totally know what you are saying about the huge surge on the bottom with the hx35 then it would top off. Now once it is lit off, it just keeps going. I keep hitting redline in 2nd and 3rd gear. (need to work on shifting faster). The whole thing just sounds and feels different, like learning to drive a new vehicle. I am going to post later on temps/ boost later when i have time to compile a post with all the info. So far however, the more i drive, the more i like it.

Just curious Mark, but what do you think of the sound of the B1, at idle, and at speed? One of the things I loved about the KwikSpool I had was the noise it made. Within the first week I had it I was asked twice at redlights if I had a supercharger under the hood! It was hilarious.

I hope to have mine on friday, with a new BullyDog exhaust to compliment it.

it does sound a lot like one of those ceramic bearing centrifugal superchargers. . has a whine w/o the gear chatter. . really cool sound. It sorta grows on you, after a while you goose the throttle just to hear more:D:D

I'm really happy w/the exhaust system I bought see the link in my sig...

you can't make me do it!!!

Oh ok, twist my arm. Depending on my clutch holding ability between now and March, I'll probably run the truck at Sac raceway test&tune just to see what she'll do". You know I won't keep going back to the track more and more, finding more and more dyno days to attend, or traveling further and further to get to the next sled pulls...

I LOVE HORSEPOWER!!

I LOVE HORSEPOWER!!

I HATE YOU MAD BOMBERS!!

AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!;)

anybody know of a deal on a clutch, injectors, and B-1?

sound of B1

hey kat, the b1 does sound pretty sweet. It sounds big, i guess is one way to put it. The hx35 at high boost levels made more of a hissing pi$$ed of sound, this thing just whistles really nice. I actually like the sound going down the freeway better. It sounds really sweet when you back out of it. Nice fluttering whistle now i just need to fix my stinking exhast leak (long story dont ask).
