Well now that I just read this whole thread I have seemed to have "pitched a tent" for a B-1 now. I have been looking for an excuse to get rid of this hy35. 1500 bones + labor = not cheap. And yes I need to have it done for me as I am a mechanical dumb dumb. I am shopping for DD2's now im thinking 3's instead. Im so confused

Bombing trucks is worse than crack.

Sky -

Did you ever put that spring on your HY to get some more air? Did it help?

If I remember correctly you have your pyro post turbo... . IF you goto III's please do yourself a favor and move the probe preturbo.

The turbo itself is a piece of cake to put on. Its the downpipe thats tricky..... with the welding required. I believe HVAC was trying to have downpipes prefabbed so that its strictly a bolt up and go type thing.

Kat,

I did get the spring on, I peak at about 25. I would like to see more though. I have to get a little more tension on the spring. I really am not haveing a problem with egt's so thats good. Yes I am planning on moving the probe pre-turbo. Im thinking dd2' will be enough but am i going to wish I got 3's?

Yeah if he could get that down pipe prefabed that would be great.

Sky,

The turbo is a no brainer. A few bolts and clamps and all. the down pipe requires a little skill with a welder bot no real mechanical ability.

any muffler shop should be able to help you out there.

So how badly do i need one of these. I have been good about not bombing for awhile now I got the itch again. I was going to buy piers super turbo but held off now there is the B-1, Will there be a bigger and better one after I buy the b-1? Man its like buying electronics, they out date the day you buy them. (Well ok not that bad. ) :p

There will always be bigger and better, but this one is awesome. Its like running MS office on a PC. after 512mb RAM and a 1ghz P4 the rest is just waste.

I can launch in 3rd and lay 4 black tracks for 60ft shift and leave 10ft more. :D Oo. Oo.

Just wondering, I'm thinking about going to the Comp when I get the B1. If I don't will I see any decrease in smoke with the B1 the way I'm running now. It seems like now if I don't eeeeease into the throttle I get the big puff of smoke. I really would like to see less smoke at takeoff with the B1.

I normally use the comp on 1/1 to reduce smoke the dd3s make lots of smoke w/o the timing advance in the comp.

which turbo doesn't matter if you're dumping more fuel than you have time and air to burn. The advanced timing helps a lot.

The B1 really shines on spool up though. there is less smoke than w/ the stock turbo at low boost because it winds up so fast.

A little puff and the rocket is lit>>>>>>>>>> :D :D :D

I got to play a bit this weekend before the snow and ice set in... WOW.

The SBC clutch really puts it to the ground. I can LAy 30-40ft of rubber on a 3rd gear launch, shift and leave 10-15 more!!!!

I'm really happy with the overall setup. OEM drivabilty and untouchable rollon accelleration. Off the line I haven't measured but it is reminiscent of BIGBLOCK performance. I really could not be happier.

Unless I had more power#ad

Hey Mark, you really got me slobbering now. :--) I can't wait for my turbo, only problem is it sounds like I'll need a more powerful clutch too. You know, my b-day is 3-12:) HEY HONEY, WHERE'D YOU PUT THE CHECKBOOK:D :D

You should see the look on the truckers' faces when they hear that singing turbo coming from a pickup:D:D

Then you blow a puff of smoke and shoot off like a rocket:-laf:-laf
