On my new to me 2015 2500 tradesman interior the usb and lighter style plugs shut off when the key is shut off. I have been able to find any further information on this in my owner’s manual. Am I missing something? Just want to be able to charge my phone sometimes. Thank you

On my ‘18 that option was only for the rear seat 12V plug, if equipped.
On my 2014, it allows the passenger side 12v outlet to remain "hot" all the time. It's great to be able to charge a headset when stepping away from the truck.

Interesting, I never tried since the owners manual says it’s specifically for the rear seat.

1 — F104 Fuse 20 A Yellow Power Outlet Center Console Bin / USB Port (Charge Only)
2 — F90–F91 Fuse 20 A Yellow Power Outlet Rear Center Console
3 — F93 Fuse 20 A Yellow Cigar Lighter Instrument Panel

EDIT: my 18 didn’t have a passenger side 12V plug, it had a passenger side USB port.

@AH64ID, I think it does both as that's how it works in mine. Makes in nice as GPS is plugged in the drivers side outlet and powers up and down with the truck. Hope it has stayed the same in the newer years!

Hmmm, I have always understood it the way AH64ID (and my 2015's owner's manual) said so I never tried it. I suppose I should.

It looks like the 2014 is the last year of 2 cigar lighters in the dash, but the owners manual reads the same as the 15+ trucks.

Moving the fuse in F90-91 now has the outlet in the center console/arm rest hot all the time. I haven’t checked the USB ports yet. Thank you again for the knowledge

Awesome, good to know... and I'll put that on the list of other misinformation in the owners manual.
