I put the silverstars in some Fords... . really not worth the money for the extra light... and that's what I was after...

Silverstar 's are an OK upgrade, but the Silverstar Ultra's really do the trick - 40 % increased down road visibility, Increases side road visibility by 50%, up to 50% brighter than a standard halogen. They last a bit longer than the basic Silverstars. I like the Ultra's, I think they have kept me from hitting a few critters. I know that spike bull on Highway 20 is greatful I had them, . . . LOL.

Neither

Neither of those bulbs have the HID look because they are halogens, not xenon types. I've had both... the PIAA burned out in 18 months, and were not as good in my opinion as the Silverstar Ultras I have now. Even so, they can't compare to real xenons like I have in my Bimmer. I just don't understand why our trucks headlights are so poor. Bruce

I've used both too. I currently use the PIAA Xtreme White Plus bulbs for my headlights. I like them better than the Silverstars, but they are more pricey than the Silverstars. I use the Silverstars in my fog lights.

i've seen a few of out trucks around and they have much briter lights with a brueish tint to them, just can track the guys down to find out what they are running

The Sylvania Cool Blue bulbs (GE has an equivalent) are brighter than the stock bulbs and do have a distinct blue tint. But they are not as bright as the Silverstars or the PIAA's. I used to have these in my fog lights till the local Walmart quit carrying them. The PIAA headlights and the Cool Blue fog lamps had kind of a neat look.

I have also used both. Not worth the time or money to install.

Has anyone had success with the true HID conversion yet??

I've had hid's now for about 3 months in the headlights and the fogs. Once you have'em you'll be looking for a reason to drive at night.

Gshail if try hid's the critters run from you.

I run the PIAA's. I can definitely tell the difference. I have never tried any other brand but I would love to have HID's.

I got them from a local company I do business with and they installed them.

I had 6k installed. Thats about the same blue tint as the new cadi's and beamers. (my opinion. )
