more on combination weight regs

Well I may buy a new Truck tonight, which would mean my Pickup camper legs would need to be moved out so the dual rear wheels could clear 2 of them.

I have searched the internet, and called the local dealer, Can't seem to find anything.

Guess I am going to have to make my own. Anybody got any pictures or tips of what they look like?

Camper jack adapters

I bought a set of adapters for the front jacks that swing out and

lock when they have weight on them and store folded in when

traveling. Should be able to get them at a camper supply store.

Camper Jacks

I have a set of swing out hinges on my camper and they work great. You should be able to get them from most RV suppliers. Mine cost about $35.

Happi Jac makes them for the dualie's. I had to pay a lot more than $35. 00 for them though. Actually they were thrown in with the price of the camper when I bought it. I had one bend the first time I used it and had to go back to the factory to get one. Cost $70. 00 plus another $25. 00 for overnight shipping. Got the Stable Lift system now and don't have to worry about them.

Re: Camper Jacks

Those that have these "swing out hinges", Who makes them? Out here on the East Coast Pickup campers are not very popular, or least there not popular with my dealer.

Any chance you got a digital camera you can email a picture?

Dually pickup jacks

Not sure how much weight you are talking about. I cut pipe spacers, used longer bolts. Worked fine. This was on 8 1/2' pickup camper. Not sure of the weight of camper. jps

Re: Dually pickup jacks

Its just under 2000 lbs. A 9' camper with 3 legs. . But I can't picture what you are talking about, "cutting pipe spacers, longer bolts, etc"

Right now mine has a "L" plate, bolted to the floor. The part in contact with the floor is probably 6"X6", then the other side of the "L" points downward. This side has the leg bolted to it.

this "L" has gussets welded to the sides to make it stronger.

I could just make a new plate that sticks out further, but that would always be sticking out about 8", I can see I will walk into it a couple times.

Just looking for some pictures for ideas before me and my welder buddy start inventing things.

Pickup jacks

The jacks I have bolt to camper with" L" shaped bracket . The jack it self bolts to L bracket with 2 bolts. I think they are 5/8". When the jacks are in transport position,1 bolts is removed jacks turn horizontlly, bolt then reinstalled to transport hole. These are the bolts I replaced with longer bolts and pipe spacers. "Clear as mud" huh? I could take a picture, will need some help posting,if you need this let me know. Maybe that your jacks are not built the same as mine! Where are you located? Have not checked your profile. jps -- email address removed --

Re: Pickup jacks

sounds like you got the same jacks as I do, now I understand. So you just replace the bolts with real long ones, and use pipe as a spacer so it will tighten up. Now I understand.

This gives me a new "outlook" on what I may build.

How long are the pipe spacers? Did you use "all thread" or bolts, what grade bolts?

I guess you switch back to the short bolts when your jacks are up.

Thanks.

When I had a pick up camper I used pieces of I-beam that i found in a scrap heap. I drilled both sides to match the jacks and the camper, bolted them on when I put the camper on and again when I took the camper off. The arrangement worked well for years.
