Steve, You didn't get mine turbo by mistake did you????

I've been wait'n by the phone waiting for a call from Piers. And you had one turbo on and sent it back and another back on already. IT JUST AINT FAIR!@!@!@!@!@!

You must be doing something right -- What is it???

We need to get it right!

Dee... In all due respect, This R&D does take sometime, and for the better- ment of the final product! :D :D I have made some suggestions and observations that Piers has incorporated to make this turbo user friendly, and at the sametime he has made it even better performing. :) I wouldn't want you to get something that isn't just right, and then complain you couldn't beat me?

In all seriousness, this turbo is definitely, a winner... And If you know Piers, he wants to make sure ALL the bases are covered for final release. . Sometimes it better to wait for good things to come along..... I don't!:D

IMHO... As far as I'm concerned this turbo is ready!!!! In addition, he still hasn't finished the 17cm exhaust housing or testing and it may even be better?

Steve

Steve, OK I guess it fair I was the first onre to get the Piers Super HX-40. But as far a beating me goes. I'm not after you... . you aint got enough RPMs:D

ANd maybe just maybe I'll being getting a 17 housing on mine.....

Keep up the reports. We need to hook up and discuss this years DYNO Days... .

HeberRam...

PM me with your name, address, phone, etc and I'll jot it down in my travel companion.

My brother has a place above Strawberry and we plan on helping him put up an A-Frame this summer. If I'm running through Heber, and lucks on my side, I'd like to check it out. I'm needing to make that next step... performance turbo time.

I'm just over the hill in Cache Valley. Holler if you're ever on your way through.

Thanks

- Ben

Heber,

It might have alrteady been posted in this thread, but if Piers is working on a 17^2 cm housing for the turbo, what size housing is on the [newest] one you just installed? I just want to get a rough idea, based on your results posted so far, which might be the better choice for my needs.

Thanks,

Tom

Thanks. Now I know the exact size. Seems there isn't as big a diff than the 17 housing after all. Wonder how the 17 will perform.

Hey HufnPuf,

How does the hybrid turbo work with your 12 valve? I just ordered one for my truck, but judging by your signature you probably have a lot more fuel than I will when I get the HX-50/55. I'm curious because I have been following this thread very closely and so far this turbo seems to be the hot ticket for a single charger at the moment. By the way, I'll be going to lazer cut d-valves, custom plate, and 370's along with the turbo, oh 4k gsk too. Hopefully the 55 will work alright with this set-up. What do you think? I really like the looks of your set-up though;) !

Brian, your set-up should rock. I'd think you'd be 130+hp better than you have now. That should make a very nice daily driver. Unfortunately it will be another two months before i get everything done on mine. But the 17. 8 housing seems to be the ticket for that extra air and for those that can shrug off the extra lag.

Indeed, the 17. 8 housing looks like the way to go. 130 HP would be nice, I plan on testing this set-up on the dyno as soon as it's all together and will post the results as soon as I can. Anyone know how long it should take to get the turbo? I know that these are fairly new to the market so perhaps Piers doesn't have any already made up???

My HX-50 is in the mail and my mouth is watering for more power. Any day now,I have other goodies in the mail also to spin that big boy.

Jim,

I know that looks funny, all the mods and all. You know what its like, you go for a ride in someone elses truck, and then wham! The next thing you know out comes the checkbook, and its all over:rolleyes: The HX-50/55 looks like it should be some fun though, I hope...
