Fuel line Bomb to change fuel pressure

He"ssssssssssss Back!

I just got back from a two day trip to Boise, Idaho to test the Hx-50 at 2700' and help kill 10 KDP's with the Idaho Rammers. The turbo worked as I expected, It spools real good and the dreaded EGT issues, were non existent! Averaged 78mph at 2100 RPM, 7-750*. Wot (bursts) 100-110 MPH, 1200*. Held boost to 54 psi. The turbo rocks for you low landers!!! This turbo loves fuel, recommend dd 111's or higher, fueling box for best performance. :D

This turbo is another break-through, much like Piers Hx-40. :)

Break-in, on any turbo, should be: pre-oil before running, don't boost over 20 psi for at least 200 miles... I waited almost 500 miles, and be sure to cool down before turning off. .

This turbo is an excellent up-grade for those that want to stay "single", if you have hit the HX-40 wall... Again, would not recommend for heavy towing. :p

Steve

P. S. You will have to watch "boost" as this turbo, presently is not wastegated. You could possibly blow inter-cooler hoses, and maybe worst, head-gaskets. i:(

I have a hard time getting out of the boost above 50 psi with out barking the turbo. How hard is it on this turbo and is their anything I can do to help keep it from happening.

Max boost is around 53 or so. Box set to kill the hottest I can make it is 1170. Before above 1600 was possible with a stock 35 The only time I miss the 35 is in 2nd and 3rd gear.

If I order one you might be right, I may be "single" again for a while;) :D

Eat'M'Up has been seeming a little weak as of late.

A long with this Super Turbo I will also be getting some of those lazer cut delivery valves:D :D

SMOKE IS GOOD!!!!!!Oo. Oo.

It's on it's wayyyyyyyyyyyyy!

Dee... I see your'e turbo is comming! What exhaust housing will it have?

I don't know if the wastegate has been developed yet, but if it has you might be the first to try. :(

Steve

Turbo up-date!!!

Spoke to Al at Piers Diesel Research, today and the wastegates are in their final development stages. :D Hopefully, sometime next week, they will be ready for testing. . In addition, the larger exhaust housing is available. Piers, will offer the "New" modified HX-50 with either the 15. 8 cm or 17 cm exhaust housing, either wastegated or not in the near future. The wastegated models, will have a billet wastegate, mounted on the exhaust housings and can be adjusted for different settings at the turbo, or with a kit for in cab adjustment. . Can you say coooool!

Can't wait to get my hands on that puppy. Will keep you informed. Oo.

Steve

I don't know about the waste gate part but I am getting the 17CM2 housing:D

The big bummer is that Piers is out of delivery valve right now. :( But I'll have them soon:--)

Can somebody post the formula to convert kg/s to cfm?

Drawson, Have you got that HX50 on yet? I'm really interested in your opinion of the HX50 compared to the HX40? TIA

Update

Thought I would up-date a little. The bugs have been worked out on the New HX-50 hybrid turbo, and Dee Rawson is one of the first with the larger 17cm housing, and is having excellent results at the 4700' elevation. See his tread:

Piers is still in the process of machining the external wastgates for the two different housings, and should be ready for testing in about two more weeks. :D

( hurry Piers, May Madness is only a little more than a month away!) :) :)

I can't wait to put the "squeeze" on it and Dyno. Oo.
