Pinkish tint of LED Clearance Lights

Good morning -

The factory LED clearance lights on my 2017 Ram 3500 have an orange/pinkish tint to them. They do not match the amber running/parking lights at all.

Is this normal??? Have others seen similar issue? Should I expect LED bulbs to be amber?

Dealership accessories department installed the clearance light kit with LED upgrade for me before I took possession of the truck.

Not satisfied with the tint/color of the lights. Reminds me of grapefruit. Want the traditional amber color.

Did the clearance light kit come with incandescent bulbs originally? If all they did to upgrade to led is change the bulbs out, they may have installed white leds instead of amber ones. Led bulb color should match the color of the lens they are behind, or they will appear washed out. The attached image is from superbrightleds.com

Yes, kit came with incandescent bulbs originally and they upgraded to LED bulbs.
Clearance lamp lense covers are "clear" (or white).

The attached pic doesn't quite capture what the eye sees but maybe you can see how the clearance lights are not the same amber color as the parking lights.

I assumed the lenses were amber colored. Clear lenses should not effect the color.


In this case it may be the particular led bulbs they used don't match the shade you are looking for. You may have to try a different brand of led with a more appealing shade.
