well i have a 99 dodge, ATS 2000 turbo, II HRVP 44, TST COMP/Smarty stack, BD XXXX Buhda 170hp injectors, intake and exaust. right now, when the TST is on, my etgs peg my gauge at 1600 REALLY quick and i no my little ats turbo is way to small for the amount of fuel i have and just wanted to know what is the BEST single turbo for my situation? i want ultimate horspower but the thing is this is my every day driver. NO TOWIN what so ever and i am at sea level. any help would be greatly appreciated.

II's silver bullet is your best bet IMO

but you will need to O-ring the head if you already don't have it done, the S/B will run 70psi of boost

:confused: well i have the 14mm studs on already but do i HAVE to o ring it as well? i have been told thats my best bet but i cant seem to find any info on it or talk to anyone thats running it

i blew mine with studs at 40psi of boost, i pulled it and had it O-ringed

now i an running 50psi with the SPS 66/14 (Sled Puller) the S/B runs hi boost numbers 60 -70 psi, a stock head gasket with studs wont hold that kind of boost.

Are you positive you have 14mm studs and not 12 mm studs? I believe the head and possibly the block has to be removed to machine the block for the 14 mm studs. If this is the case, why would anyone go to all that work and not o-ring or fire ring it? The 12 mm studs would have held anything the stock headgasket could take, so why 14 mm studs and no o-rings?

Sorry a bit to change the subject.

How did you like the ATS 2000 before you over-fueled it?

Thanks;

Jim

Best turbo, probalby the silver bullet, but I would suggest a super phat shaft, or the HTT high tec line. These are a little more cost effective.

Well if you didn't want to spend the money on the S/B, I'd get the Super Phat Shaft 66... I have the super 62 and love it, but I don't have the fueling you do. I'm in the process if getting 80 hp EDM injectors and a FASS, so we'll see how she runs; should be juuust right.

He's probably confused since the nuts on the 12's are 14mm 12 pointers.

your right, i didnt mean to put 14mm, i meant 12mm. i was told by a local (PERFORMANCE) diesel shop that i wouldnt need oringing and that the studs would hold pretty much anything i threw at it. well if its only 300, i should have done it the first time i had the motor out.

love it. spools just as fast as a stock 35 or faster. and it really keeps the egts in check. if i dont turn the boxes on, with just the HRVP and the 170hp injectors, egts have never gone above 1250 which is fantastic. when i turn the smarty on #8 and the DRAG comp on 5x5, they are through the roof BAD

Thanks Ross, I am kind of looking at one for my truck. How much fuel were you running before you out grew it?

Thanks again;

Jim

ok with my HRVP, and 170hp injectors, my temps NEVER went above 1250. and i mean i tried and tried and just couldnt get them to go over. soon as i added the DRAG comp they went to about 1450 to 1500. with the DRAG/Smarty pegs 1600 at nearly the end of 1/4 mile. when i tried the TSTcomp/DRAG/Smarty (best combo i have yet to try :) ) peged my 1600 gauge in about 5 secs but man the power was unreal with that setup.

sweet, just called HTT and they said for somewhere between 300 and 1000$$$ they could convert my ATS 2000 to a B2 of my choice or even the Silver Bullet. they said i have to ship my turbo to them to see what its specs are so i am really leaning towards that way right now unless no one wants to buy this turbo from me in the CLASSIFIEDS lol.
