friend called this morning and said driving last night his truck died all of the sudden, he checked all of the fuses and said he has fuel coming out of both ports in the fuel filter housing (no gauge) will crank over but not start. I would assume it is the VP44 right? Anything else to check? Truck probably has around 170,000 miles or so on the original VP.

thanks,

Cory

Hey Cory, If your weather was like mine last night it was like -13. My truck jelled up and i used a load of power service to get rid of the jell/wax problem. I would get your buddy's truck in somewhere warm and if he didn't take out the vp with no fuel pressure, it may be ok after it thaws out.
Tell him to get a fuel pressure gauge... ... ... ... ... ... ... .

Yeah, that was the first thing I thought, but he said that it wasn't gelled up, he talked to someone at Scheid diesel and they said it sounds like the VP but they would have to check to make sure.

thanks,

Cory
