Could this be the cause.......
... ... . tonite I ran into a person who works for a regulatory agency. She just got done attending a class where they had a session on various scams involving fuels, in particular diesel.
Apparently the bean counters were relating to the class just how widespread in many areas the practice is of "watering" down diesel by some of the distributors... ... crooks looking to make big profit margins will water diesel with just about any and everything. I think a number of us knew this all along... ... ... however, the bean counters made a point to show, via statistical analysis, that in some areas, what is being sold to the retailers by a distributer far outweighs what the distributor bought in the first place.
I guess the gist of the class was to show the regulatory outfits that they are getting ripped off big time on taxes... ... ... and that this problem has grown exponentially to the point where its a big issue.
Well, if some of these guys are cutting our fuel with stuff like water, jet fuel (that was repeatedly mentioned, and can't figure out what the advantage would be there), and other stuff, wouldn't that tube our pumps pretty much on the spot??? I suppose it would have to be really widespread to do that to so many pumps in so many places... ... ..... but I guess my question is if watered down diesel would ruin a lift pump?? Certainly the main pump, right???
