I have a 1998 1/2 24 valve 2500 automatic. What kind of power increase can I expect (hp and torque) from installing the power edge ez module. Everything else in this truck is still stock. I would like to see some dyno numbers from a similar truck. Also do you think I am safe with the stock auto? I run empty about 95 % of the time. I probably get the dtt torque converter and valve body . Thanks in advance for the information.

Ken,

I don't know that exact HP increase, but I have been told it is around 60HP. The EZ in my truck is very noticeable. It really makes a difference in the low end power. . I would highly recommend this product.

As far as the Stock Auto. I have been told by many people that the EZ is your limit... . PERIOD!. I can tell you from experience that when you WOT, it feels like the transmission is about to slip. But I haven't had mine slip yet.

Hope this helps

Kev

It is probably just over the limit for your transmission. You will have to use your head or it will slip the tc clutch at lower rpm.

I dynoed my truck with and without the EZ picked up 52HP at the wheels and 156ft/lbs (see my sig. for mods I had before the EZ)
The end result was 280HP& 612ft/lbs at the wheels.

Ken, I can tell you that regardless of your HP increase, you are not getting all the benefit with the OEM TC. I think most people wait until the TC clutch slips before they replace it and then are so amazed at the improvement they wish they had done it earlier. I'll bet everyone who has a DTT TC and got a new truck would change it in a heartbeat. A least I would.

Wayne,
How is the performance with just the 275s in it?
Thanx

As you can see in my signature I have all the upgrades you have been talking about and more. Howerver the only dyno I have access to is a SOP dyno (thats Seat Of my Pants dyno). The EZ ,according to reports from others, adds around 50-60 hp, but if feels like more. It is a great add on but will probably excede what your torque converter can stand. I would highly reccomend getting the DDT TC/VB first, you would be amazed what a difference it makes.
As for the 275 injectors, will I added them and the EZ in the same day and have never removed the EZ to see the difference. I thought I was going to have to do it to be able to handle the road conditions this winter, but I moved the jumper to the middle position on the EZ and it handles okay on the ice now.

Big A, the performance with just the 275's is very good . I tested them at the track and picked up a solid 5mph. in the 1/4ml. plus 1. 5mpg improvement.
No downsides at all, and actually when I think about it (and im sure others will back me on this)for the price they go for now, theyre probably the best modification for the money.
PS. for a 99 truck anyway.
