Kyle:

I have already posed the same question to the folks at Edge products. As I am equipped with 275's and the VA, I saw the edge unit serving two purposes for me; namely a boost module to assist my existing setup, plus a fueling enhancer when I want to play. Anyway, I was assured by Edge that the boost fooler operates even with the box turned off, as long as 12v power is connected to it. I ordered mine with a modified program to minimize overfueling and smoke at low rpm/boost since I'm already running the other above mentioned mods. I was told the unit is shipped complete with a brass wastegate elbow.

I would confirm the boost signal control works with the module off. I have enumerable lights and bells going off on the dash of my truck so it is hard to tell. Think of a pinball machine in front of you while you drive, you get the idea #ad

I just might have to drive to Earnhardt's house and see if he wants to run 'em.

Just got the PE installed a couple of days ago and I agree, it's a blast to drive. This is my first power upgrade to the Cummins and I'm really pleased that the power increase does not cause any driveability problems at all. Unless you want to count being careful not to break the tires loose around corners and such! Just a puff of smoke till the boost comes up, but not bad at all. I'll have some 0-60 comparisons after I get the pyro gauge in. Thanks HVAC for your help and prompt shipping. It's good to buy a product from someone who has already tried just about everything out there and can tell you the differences first hand. I knew exactly what to expect before the install.

Thanks Turbo-6, I do feel I can provide some good impressions on what works and what does not work. Or at least how stuff works and what works well.

The Power Edge is the best box out there IMO. The program can be changed which separates it from the other devices. The range of 3 different fueling curves is like a 12v with 3 different camplates at the touch of a button.

Mike and I installed a Power Edge on Cliffman's big-a$$ed ETH yesterday. I predict Cliffman will be spending a lot of time today behind the wheel with a #ad

More feedback on my PowerEdge... I like to run 70 on the interstate, unloaded, and before I installed this little wonder, I would watch my mileage(overhead console computer) drop from 16. 9 or 17. 0 mpg down to 16. 1 or so... it would always climb back up to 16. 9 when I'd drop down to 55mph on two lane roads... with the Edge at level 2, I watched my mileage climb to 18. 0 mpg tonight on the way home from Kentucky Speedway... and I used the cruise control with no problems observed. I'm sure it will continue to go up, a little slow, the more I drive it...
I let a friend at work drive my truck (he has a 200l 2500 4x4 Cummins). He's married, with 4 kids (poor guy!) When he got out of my truck, he was already working on how he was gonna persuade the head of the house to get him one for Father's Day... #ad

HVAC,
does Cliffman have any other mods to the ETH?

JUST FOR INFO, LOOK AT THE REGIONAL EVENT FORUM FROM THE ORANGE RAMMERS.
DYNO-DAY ON JULY 15TH AT ESCONDIDO, JUST ABOVE SAN DIEGO ON THE 15 FREEWAY!
TIME TO CHECK OUT THE INCREASE IN POWER FROM ALL THE MODS!!
EDGE PRODUCTS WILL BE THERE, SO BRING CASH #ad

Mike, Cliffman is just getting started with modifications. He seems to be making the transition from 12v power rather well. The next thing we are installing will be a boost/egt and a temp/temp. The gauges are SPA's like the ones on my site. We have a 4" pipe to go on soon as well as a set of stage III injectors. He is going to have a dually "jump jet" #ad

HVAC,

Your prediction is correct. I now have a deformed face. It's like a smile that’s been distorted by extreme G-forces. #ad

The PE box is every bit as advertised. The 3 levels of power are great and there's no way any body can tell that it's been installed once removed. I'm especially pleased with the very clean and professional installation that you and Mike performed on Friday. The level 3 power comes on smooth and pulls hard. My highway fuel mileage has increased 5 mpg. #ad
Yah Baby. I didn’t expect that. Overall rating: I give this thing a 10. For the price, easy installation and the added 80 HP with 3 levels of excitement, you can't beat it.

Love the smell of diesel in the morning.

Briar Hopper, I watched my overhead display and was surprised to see it sitting on an even 19mpg with in-town and on the interstate with the pedal down quite a bit and was wondering if the readout was true since in the past it has never been over . 2 of a mile off. When I filled up and made the calculations for fuel mileage with the calculator I carry with me the actual mileage was 17mpg. If you find the same when you check please post it or email me. Just curious why the radical change in the overhead computer readings. This was after adding the Power Edge.

HVAC, Great talking with you today. The check is in the mail! (Really, I'm not pulling your leg. ) Can't hardly wait for the Power Edge. This is my first BOMB with many more to come. I have always liked lots of power. When I push I the throttle I want to go!! This will probably just get me started! Don't worry I don't think I am another HVAC!! #ad

Mopars1: My computer reads between 18. 2 and 20 as far as mileage. When I figure it out on a calculator I get 17. 85 mpg. I think a guy has to allow for idling, and driving in the lower gears.

Another thing I have noticed is when someone is being rude on the road #ad
, alls I want to do is to SMOKE them #ad

. I saw another tread talking about this. Wouldn't it be great if someone actually design such a toy!! I know, it would give us a bad name if abused, but sometimes I think it is called for!! #ad

Cliffman, thanks for the report and kind words #ad

David_VT, we didn't see much of you this trip #ad
This work thing is getting in the way of more important stuff. You should clearify your priorities with the boss #ad

Big Bob, good to speak to you. Wish I lived in your neck of the woods. Never met nicer folks then I did in Kellogg ID. Does my heart good to know that people like that exist. We are a little intense here in silicone valley (the pit).

Anyone interested in the Power Edge needs to contact me if you want to get in on the introductory price. I think the "cat is out of the bag" regarding the quality, I'll put it up against anything else on the market. The price is going up to reflect the rest of the market.

I thank Ramkids for helping me install the PowerEdge in my truck. I pulled my Jeep and trailer with it this past weekend and must admit that with the box turned on level 3 and with the trailer hooked on you can still pass someone without much thottle, speed increases very fast, but then again so does the boost and EGT's I guess now I need a 4" exhaust now.

HVAC,
I love the truck and you are correct, work is clearly getting in the way... .

Now they want me to move to Singapore for two years... I doubt the Ram will be able to attend that trip... #ad

Slingawho??? Why are they punishing you Davit_VT. I fear that things did not go well on the last trip #ad
Time for self employment D_VT #ad

Doug Hatfield, please give us some hard egt numbers you experienced while pulling the jeep. I would appreciate the feedback.

I'm experiencing a strange, sudden hard stumble in the engine, it only comes along after really nailing the go go pedal, then a few minutes later, when I'm driving easy, at about 1700 RPM, it will stumble, very sudden and startling, makes me jump outa my skin every time. What is it? No boost elbow in place, just the stock tube, and it does it in either stage 2 or stage 3...
Mopars1 : I didn't think to verify my computer's accuracy, I'll do it soon and let ya know.
