hi first time user sorry if i screw up have 2001 4x4 ext auto diesel look on the site and thought maybe lift pump or filter truck runs fine most times but at most cases 55 mph truck has no power still runs if you let off pedal or stomp truck waits then takes off as normal replaced lp and filter 1 month ago problem never stoped new to diesel repair and ideas would help thanks doug :)

Welcome aboard. Sounds like you may have a bad APPS or VP44. You need to get a fuel pressure gauge on to see if the VP44 is getting pressure from the lift pump.

To tell for sure, pull the codes. Turn your key on-off-on-off-on and leave it there. The codes will be shown in the odometer window. Post them, and we can help better.

The 0216 is a pump timing code that is indicative of a VP-44 injection pump failure... . The pump itself it pretty easy to change out. If we can help out in any way please give us a call.
