Hello out there, I am interested in towing mirrors for my 2001 4x4 3500 H. O. that is used mainly to tow boats. I have seen the Power Vision Mirrors advertised in the TDR subscription, but I don`t know anything about them. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated, Thank You In A dvance, TJMIV:confused:

Power Vision Mirrors

I had a set of Power Vision Mirrors installed on my truck about 5 months ago and don't have any regrets. With the slip on mirrors sometimes I would forget to put them on before leaving and would have to stop and do it. Now its a simple push of a button. And they are just as stable as my stock mirrors.

They are great. So easy to change from tow to non tow, just push the button. I have tried 3 kinds of add on mirrors and the vibrations were terrible even with McKesh mirrors. The powervision mirrors are not quite as vibration free extended as stockers are non extended but almost.

I'll second Rusty. Got 'em, luv em.

Had them installed by dealership before picking truck up and they've been great. If done right, it makes for a very clean install.

I used to work a block away from this little outfit in Pendleton Oregon. I knew a few of the people working there and and they were all hand assembled. Didn't have my truck then but my friend who's wife worked there had them on his truck and they were really nice.

The mirrors work very well. One of the nice features is the break away in either direction. I called Powervision and they said they had an add on blinker assembly coming out in October.

It`s great to get this kind of feedback on any product before a purchase is made. What`s even better is I get honest opinions! That`s a great idea with the turn signal indicator, may just wait another month or two since I`ve already driven it 2 1/2 years with the stock stubbys on it. :)

I have had a set for several years and have had no trouble with them. They look good and work quite well.

Their instructions state that they strongly suggest they be installed by an "automotive professional".

They go on to say that the warranty is void if installed by anyone except themselves or an authorized facility.

I took my chances and did it myself.

I don't know of any "automotive professionals" in this area that I would let touch my truck, let alone pull off the door panels and go after it with an electric drill.

I have had the powervision mirrors for 3 years. I installed them myself, even though I had no prior experience. They work great. I like the remote extend/retract operation from the inside and even more I like the remote adjust feature; sure beats my prior clip on's. I wouldn't want to tow withougt them!

Got 'Em Love 'Em Too!

Had mine for about 1 year now, self installed piece of cake! Very little vibration, even extended on bumpy road. Had 3 pairs of CIPA's took them off because of vibration!

Had mine for about a year. Love them! I did the install myself and it was very easy. Took about 2 hours, but could definately be done quicker, im very slow when I work on my truck.

I love the power extend feature. Its pretty trick, plus u can use it to smack a co-worker, etc, in the head for fun when they are standing between ur truck and theirs LOL.

Just as I will always have a Cummins until I die, I will also have PowerVision mirrors too.

FYI I am in no way affiliated with PowerVision, just a very satisfied customer.

Do it they are well worth the $.

Thanks for all of your help , this makes the decision a no- brainer. I will make the call this week to Power Vision to find out about the turn signal indicator with the mirrors. Well now that I think about it I`ll just e-mail them now and maybe they will call me back tomorrow:)

Howard, the first generation Power Vision mirrors had the slightly larger, more chiseled looking mirror heads... which I think you have. These would also be non-heated. If so, yes Power Vision recommended professional installation as the wiring was not modular adaptive.

I waited well over two years for Power Vision to release their second gen. mirrors (heated), purchasing a pair as soon as they became available. The installation is far easier with the second gen. mirrors as most all the connections are modular and no drilling is required (as was the case in the past).

I do know one thing, I sure love the looks as well as the function of my Power Vision mirrors! :D

My install was shown on two Guys Garage and was a very easy bolt on, with one cut out in the door panel for switch, and a template is supplied.
