my new CAT !!!

Do they have them? A guy at church has a 99? and he wanted me to take it out, I haven't got under there yet; I am scared of all the power under that hood:rolleyes:

Thanks Steve

I have only seen that goofy compressor housing setup that supports a 'silencer ring' on the Holsets... . everyone else just deals with the whine.

To help with the noise - the F*rd E-Series PSD's even have an intake silencer/muffler..... which also likes to rattle away from it's valve cover mount and grind away at the fuel filter housing cover... . ruining both the silencer and the cover. Been there done that. :D

I doubt they have one. My grandpa had a '97. The cab was so well insulated from noise, that you could barely hear the turbo or the motor. :( The truck was straight-piped too!

Thats how my 95 was that I had. You hardly knew you had a turbo. As for the straight pipe. I did that and rolled the truck a week later. :D I didn't have a lot of experience with that.

OUCH!

That was the best thing that I ever did. That particular truck was a money pit. I have owned a lot of Ford's in the past and still currently own one, but that thing was always in the shop.

I agree... . every PSD I have ever worked on ('94. 5-'02... . mostly non-intercooled E-Series cutvans... ) has had the same air intake setup... . pretty simple... and a good straight shot.

Except for that crankcase vent venturi doo-hickey that sticks up and makes everything oily... .

So is my '86. Still needs alot of work (the IFS is a POS. That's why I don't drive it much. Just drove it to get parts for the Dodge (twice) and to keep it freed up and the batts. charged. Need to sell it.

Thanks, guys

As far as all that power goes, the way all his relatives talk, it's weak even for a PSD. What would they know, they drive a Cummins. :D :D
