TDR Issue 89 - Nearly Famous

Nov 10th

Ha! Percocet must be wearing off a little.

Yep!!! Doing so well they said that there's no need to keep a almost better Man away from home. If all goes well will be home tomorrow afternoon. No I wont have a Barley Pop it wont go well with Percocet and Penny's left hook if I did something as stupid as that.

I just wish they would take the Warfarin and stick it where the sun don't shine but have 4 more weeks of that crap

Hey Big Get Better soon Brother we all miss ya around here .good to see you may have got your Hobbling Paper's .Hang in there .I've never Fallen that far but I've had a Heck of alot of surgeries and can just imagine your going Nut's Like I do when your cooped up in a Bed you Hate and Have to eat Food that Taste like Cardboard . But Just think once you get home .you will be on the Mend .Get Well Brother Big :)

Thanks ALL

I was surprised when the Dr said that hospitals were for sick folks, and said you can leave. Took most of the day to run tests just to see if I was good enough to leave. But I finally did get a reprieve from staying longer. Have to go back in 2 weeks for a check up but all looks good with the implant and blood is ok as long as I watch what I eat with the Blood thinner. That stuff makes me sick but Warfarin has been around a long time all of my surgeries I use it to prevent blood clots, some of the newer stuff isn't all that tested or you are doing the testing, I will take being sick for a few weeks knowing that's about as bad as it gets.

Penny's doing WAY TO MUCH to help me out, I cant get my leg on yet its still pretty sore so she's doing the chores in the barn and around the house and I do what I can cooking and taking care of things that way.

I was happy to have a good steak when I got home yesterday evening. The one that I had a the hospital I almost needed my chainsaw to cut it up. With Penny's Fathers and our Son's beef a fork is about all that's needed to eat the Steak dinner and all the fixins. The pancakes this morning weren't the man-hole covers in the streets like I've been choking down. The hospital was concerned with me loosing weight, I reminded them that heavy pain killers are pretty good apatite suppressants and the food isn't the most appealing in the world what do you expect.

I REALLY ENJOY THE QUIET!! ya just don't realize how quiet it is until you stay a few days in the city. My ears are ringing ( maybe from the drugs) but they quit ringing this AM when I hobbled to the kitchen put on the coffee and went to the deck to watch the day start with my Mother-in-law.

Thanks for all the well wishes, its not over by a long shot I have lots of re-hab to do, they had to slit a Quadricept muscle pretty far down the inside of my leg to get at the artery, Putting on the leg is encrusting it wont go on anyway with the swelling.

Take care and don't jump off of high things with a peg leg

BIG

I'm not sure I want to see you doing that on one pogo leg. Never mind that a pogo leg would *really* break up your gait.

(Drat. There's no '' smiley.)

Wow!! that picture is bitter sweet, I'm not going hunting this year in our traditional sense, I have an opportunity to score on Elk where they can be reached by truck. We have a Gator so we are going to take that and do the hunt that way, not our usual thing but meat on the table and an opportunity for an Extra Long Range shot.

Been doing the re-hab trip, this one really smarts and gets tired fast. Just now have figured a way of putting on the prosthetic leg without to much discomfort buy changing a neoprene sock that goes under the leg and over the stump, its a loose fit and is not good for anything other than just walking of which I can only do for a couple hundred yards before needing a break from not only pain but fatigue. Going in for a test where they inject dye and then look at it with an MRI machine only this on is called MRA Magnetic Resonance Angiogram it checks blood flow and looks for leakage the down side is the injected dye makes everyone BARF BIG TIME:p

Other than that, just been doing the cooking because Penny is doing everything else (don't know how im ever going to repay her for this one) Taking care of the Aquarium is one of the biggest chores I have which really is pretty maint. free if the water chemistry is done and checked right. Been doing some collecting of sorts I've found an exciting new hobby!! HOARDING anything mostly 22 rounds are the hot ticket right now, that SET PEOPLE ON FIRE!! so when we do go out I make sure to make more stops than I ever have in order to HOARD as many as I can.

Thanks again for the Hello, Take care

BIG aka Pathetic Jackwagon
