TDR Issue 89 - Nearly Famous

Nov 10th

BIG, Oh NO! You woke up from the "procedure" and figured out you were missing a leg, how dat happen Pardner? Quick go back to the room and look see if they left it laying around, might still work.

Gary im not missing a leg, it came back from the repair shop in the Basement and its been waiting for me to be able to put it on. Right now it wont slide up to where it needs to be without some VERY LARGE DISCOMFORT!!

Well, we might as well all jump in. Big, I hope your recovery goes well and you're back on your foot soon.

Rusty

Thanks Rusty did some stretching (part of the rehab) yesterday, That was an experience better left un-described some of the vocabulary im sure would offend some of the dainty members of TDR. Waited until I showered and got something to eat before telling them that the pain level scale from 1 to 10 was about a 25 and needed something to help me get ready for somemore rehab after breakfast.

BIG

Glad to hear your improving, now you can get a leg up on your competition. :-laf:-laf:-laf

Im afraid my competitive days are over amigo, Penny has laid down the law. She said that I'm supposed to be retired, SO ACT LIKE IT!! & Slow down at least 4 gears.

Better be an automatic, remember the State said no clutch CDL. So now you'll be really shiftless. Just put it D and hand on!

Gary I didn't use a clutch that much anyway, starting and stopping was the only time I used it and if I thought about it or a down grade enough to get the truck rolling presented itself, I pushed in the buttons slid it into gear when it started rolling. I got what I wanted a CDL with provisions but its still a CDL, after watching some of the truck drivers of today ply their skills, Im kind of glad that maybe I don't have to be around them all that much. THEY CANT DRIVE!!

From my window I can see the loading docks for trucks at the hospital, its pretty sad that it takes them as many shots as it does to back up to hit the dock. Better yet is to watch some of the freight haulers make & breaks wiggle wagons & then to back in a half set is comical.

Besides my Inter-trashonal was converted to auto long before they made me have provisions on my ticket. :D

PS: CDL is not a State lic. its now a Federal fiasco and has been for some time. When it did become Federal I had to give up 5 of my Class 1 lic. and only carry one. (OLD SCHOOL TRUCKIN BROTHER)

Conspiring? for what reason Fest?

come on I know you can do better than that Fest!! make a goodie about the missing leg, I know you can do it! :-laf

How did the doc know to ask you about helicopters? Someone musta told him. :)

Your leg isn't missing.
  1. You know exactly where you left it.
  2. Unlike its owner, the replacement doesn't have any cylinders that could misfire.
  3. With more practice, your aim should improve significantly.

Better? Did I overlook any? :D

Not really difficult to see that someone is pretty uptight about being on a Helicopter when it lands and the ER people have to pry the patient out of it after all I wasn't passed out the entire time.

Daughter could have told them that I was coming in and had certain problems, she was a flight Nurse and was combat trained medic

I knew where my leg was, I had to put a stick down between me and the socket to break the vacuum to get the damn thing to let go of me, and at the cost of the thing I DON'T LET IT OUT OF MY SIGHT TO LONG.

Still don't understand the misfire comment, or my aim????

But not really with it right now or for the last few days for that matter Percocet is kicking my XXX Oo.

Maybe the wife was conspiring with the Doc? I don't think so, she's much more imaginative than to off me by falling off a barn.

Fest never been real good about talking in circles, I call them as I see them and leave it at that. I really don't get offended easily.

Sounds like you've found nirvana Pard, Good for ya. We all need a place to escape and renew our Primal selves. I unfortunately wont be doing that this year, hunting is not an option. I shouldn't say Hunting like it was all hunting, Penny & I are going to take our new shotguns and see if we cant shoot some geese and duck with Triple A. Depending on how well I can walk we might even go for some Pheasant and other inland birds.

I do listen to Penny she's been by my side thru this whole God awful mess. I had to tell her to go home and stay home for a few days. Today was the first day she stayed at home to do things we need to get done to be able to make it better for the winter time.

She still thought about me though, around lunch time a Pizza Delivery guy came in from an Italian Restaurant that we go to, she ordered up a deep dish Carnivore with a note that said " Sorry that you cant have a beer with this" That's a pretty special gal in my book.

Take Care Grizz

Big if you get this way during duck season and can get in a boat I'll be sure to find you a flooded timber hunt you can remember.

CB I would love to give that a try, right now I'm just hoping to be able to hobble out to the bank of one of our rivers and sit in a blind. But I will remember the offer!!

Yes, I imagine Percocet would have you not firing on all cylinders.

A missing engine has one or more cylinders misfiring. And when one's aim is less than perfect, one's leg will be frequently missing the target. As we well know, gravity has a large target, rarely missing it. And I was referring to your OEM leg.

Offense not intended. The three items were supposed to be funny in a 'truism' sort of way. Alas, that's the trouble with cerebral humor: the intended effect often goes missing.

Big, prayers headed your way. Sounds like another page in the book of life. Got many more chapters to go!

Thanks Mopar, I'd kind ta like a few more chapters. I have to start by letting the younger guys take the falls I found out that I don't bounce so well anymore.

Fest

I don't get mad anymore, 3 of my Best-est friends in the whole wide TDR haven't been TRYING to pester me. I do miss them they have shown me that even thou I have never claimed to be the brightest bulb in the pack there is always 3 that have a lower wattage than I .

Fest don't fret, I can barley remember my name right now. :p

A little more barley and you shouldn't remember it at all. The doc might "tsk tsk" you mixing barley and Percocet, but that's tomorrow's story.

LOL! I kill me!

(Hey, bein' a sit-down comedian ain't easy when you gotta write yer own material.)
