No, I am talking about the plug in the intake pressure port.

Mike, take that rig for a ride around town and let everything warm up, then try to remove the plug and it should come right out. Mine came out almost too easily using this method.

Scott,
That did the trick!! It came right out. Thanks for the help.

H E L P ... .....

I am trying to get the 3/4 pipe plug out of the pressure port on my 24 valve engine. I am using a 1/2 drive and extension, but I can't seem to get it to brake loose #ad
. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Glad to hear that worked for you. Not my idea, I learned it from here before I removed mine. I was all set with a 1/2" breaker bar, etc. , placed the 1/2 drive in the boost plug and spun her out with two fingers worth of pressure. Can't beat the TDR for the wealth of experience, best $35. 00 bucks I ever spent #ad

Are you talking about the plugs for the coolant? Maybe try warming the engine up first.

Tried that myself, but to no avail. I twisted off the end of a 1/2 inch drive extension trying to break mine loose. I drilled and tapped the intake manifold tonight to get my boost readings.

You guys are making me nervous. I am planning on installing my gauges today. Since it's warmer here in Ohio than it has been for a while. I have a Snap-on 1/2" pipe plug socket that is designed for removing square pipe plugs. It is tapered slightly and doesn't have the locking ball like a 1/2" extention does, which makes the socket stonger. I figure with my 24" Snap-on breaker bar and the special socket, it will come out one way or another !!!

Good job Morphious, the intake manifold (runner) is a better boost source location anyway.

Gauge installation was sucessful. The 3/4 pipe plug in the intake came out easy. Probably had 20-25 ft/lbs torque.
