And I thought the oil dissertations here on TDR were long. . . holy cow #ad

I got sick of reading it after 1. 5 pages (thread went to 4 pages in 4 days #ad

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought(I know bad idea) Mobil 1 was not for Diesels. Mobil Delvac is. Pete

Vaughn,I'm with you I get sick of all the responses in the Ford and GM sites, too much to wade though. I'm sure it's because they're free, makes me glad that this site isn't. I think when a person is willing to pay that the quality of questions and answers is much better also.

Mobil 1 is not for diesels. It does not meet the SERVICE CATEGORY. That was part of the irony in Harry's remarks. Harry said Mobil 1 was fine since it was certified and Amsoil was not. Then it turns out that diesel oil in general is not certified only service rated. Amsoil meets the required SERVICE RATING and is API licensed. No one on the Ford site is running Mobil 1 that I know of. A bunch do run the Delvac. Most use Rotella followed by Delo and Amsoil. What do most of you guys use? There really isn't that much bickering over there. Harry is pretty much a new member. A self promoted KNOW IT ALL who found out he didn't know near as much as he thought he did. He is waiting on an ordered PSD. Maybe we can convince him he needs a Cummins and get his thoughts over here. . HA... CJ

CJ, I've always liked people from Texas, you included, but you can keep Harry over there!!!! Hell I'll even help him with his down payment to keep him in a PSD!! #ad

Personally, I use Conoco Power-D 15W-40. Only cost me $35 for 6 gallons with the employee discount and it's a real good oil.

Bob,
You are probably right. I really don't want to see him here either. I spend as much time here as I do on the other side of the fence. You need to venture over here more often... . most of these guys have had their shots... CJ
