Had Valley injection in Abbotsford BC. install a BD exhaust brake in 1999. recently I can not hear or feel it engage like it used to. If I open the hood and push the little black rubber thinggy it engages and I can hear it and see it activate. When driving I can turn on the toggle switch in the cab and it dosen't work. The little red light in the toggle switch comes on so I know I have power to the switch but no activation of the brake. Are there any fuses or micro switches on the acelerator pedal that I can check? :(

Not sure what the little black rubber thingy is but...
Anytime my brake stopped working it was the control solenoid that's operated by the switch and controls the vacuum to the vacuum cylinder on the brake. You can disconnect the wires and hoses, remove the screws from the end and pull out the little spool valve that's inside. Clean it all up, give it a bit of light lube like some WD40 or silicone spray and put it all together. Like I said, that's solved my problem before.

I didn't install the micro switch but I believe the kit came with one for the throttle pedal. Maybe the connectors are shot here or maybe the switch is out of adjustment.

If it activates when you press the black rubber button then you need to adjust the micro switch so the linkage makes a better contact with it.

I'd suggest that you clean the spool valve in any event. I'm attaching a PDF file from BD showing the procedure. Check and re-adjust the micro-switch at the throttle pedal as needed. You should be able to find installation instructions for your brake on BD's web site if you need more guidance.

They showed me how to lube the little conical screen filter while pushing in the small rubber button with a ball point pen. I have had it quit before and all it took was to use W-D 40 to clean and lube the activator switch. Worked every time but now it wont. I will check the micro switch on the throttle pedal for adjustment.
Hi Bob- yes still around here with the same truck with 283,000 miles and still running my DTT transmission with over 2K on it with no issues.
