Competition Canfield

Competition truck is on a diet...what else can go..

DHRA Exhibition Pull At Canfield.

I was given an education by the pullers who attended this event.

All we offered them was a chance to pull in front of thousands of people, who may have never seen a smokin Diesel pull a sled before. No purse, all volunteer.

All was looking good, as the trucks and trailers started rolling in. We did end up short a few trucks, but a few exprienced pullers stepped up, and brought theirs in from the parking lot.

One had his girlfriend pull their hauler.

Then we headed for the track, and due to some miscommunication, they had built us a mudbog, instead of a pulling track.

Some hurried repair, and we went ahead and ran.

The pullers quickly realized, that running one tire down the GRASS was better track than what was there!!

Soon, they were going right out the gate. (and brushing the footage markers!)We tightened the sled for each class, as the "landscaping, or lawnmowing" was hooking pretty good after a few passes.

These guys had every right to walk away from that track, and tell us to shove it. Or, as I suggested, to run easy, save the trucks for Sunday, give us time to fix the track.

Right.

Tell a puller to hold back.

Wide open, every one. The crowd LOVED IT.

These guys showed me what is about to promote their sport and not themselves.

The pull results are on www.dhraonline.com.

Read the list of pullers, and if you see them at a pull, thank them for promoting your sport, they did a heck of a job!

Also, a special thanks goes out to the Northwest Pennsylvania Truck Pullers Association, for supplying the sled and some of the crew. They did an excellent job. If you ever get a chance to pull their sled, you will like it.

Glad to hear it Gene... nobody got there inner fender-well partially ripped out?:p

... or didnt you hear about that yet?

DHRA tech department is staffed with proffesionals. We don't have those problems.

Sorry to hear that about Craig, they must have figgered he was guilty by association?

LOL!;) :D

Awesome show guys ...

sat in the crowd with my DHRA shirt and most of the people within sight of me asked all kinds of questions

3 of my buddies who run class 3 mudtrucks are ready to sell their race trucks and by pullers

just let me know when you have the next one!

Seriously though, after what happened to Craig, EVERY Diesel should have loaded up and went home.

Glad to hear you were helping us out, 2broke2smoke, and nice to meet you.

Friday night we have a pull between Sharon and Mercer, Jefferson Township Fair.

Saturday, Burton, Ohio.

Hey sleddy, I was unaware that there was any other throttle postion then wide open, specially in front of a crowd!

It is great to hear about people helping the sport. Sounds like it was a good show. I wish diesel pullers would start to be more populated out here in Iowa. Guess I better sell my gasser puller and build a diesel to help out the cause.

Nah. Just convert it back to a street-driveable rig and trailer it to sled pulls, just in case you bust your diesel on the pulling track. :)

Nah, gassers are just for fun, ain't supposed to pull trailers!!:D My diesel gets 10-12 mpg pulling my trailer/toys around. Can't imagine what the 440 would get under the same load, prolly 10-12 gallons per mile!!!
