Hey Dave,

The track bar is what holds the axle centered under the truck. With the adjustable bar you could change the location of the axle. I didn't go with the adjustable bar because I didn't plan to lift my truck. Hope that makes sense.

I'm fighting getting this TB bracket in. I need to ream out the frame hole for the upper bracket bolt. This bracket just doesn't seem to fit flat under the frame but I'm bolting it in anyway. Not much room to work with my angle grinder and I can't seem to grind much material anyhow.

I understand the axle centering is done with the TB but since mine is adjustable I don't know where I should measure to get the axle centered. I'm going to get the TB in and tighten the TB up and worry about it later. I just don't understand how to know if its centered properly.

Thanks,

Dave

Hey Dave,

The bracket didn't fit perfect on my truck either. There are to many variations from truck to truck. I think I would have found a place on the front end to take measurements before I took the old TB off. Then use those to put the new TB in place. Hope everything went well.

I got it done last night. I wasn't happy with the fit of the bracket on the frame but the bolts are tight enough to hold it. I'm considering having the bracket welded to the frame. I'd have to remove the steering box and tb and sway bar.

As far as the axle centering, I have a good alignment shop and I'll explain it to them and have everything aligned. The steering wheel needs centered too. The truck is pulling a little to the right now.

I'm concerned that I didn't center the steering box input shaft prior to install,

I guess it doesn't matter since the steering wheel can be aligned with the tie rod adjustable sleeve... right?

Well, the SS steering stabilizer is next.

Then I'll see if the death wobble returns.

Dave

The sleeve will be used to center your steering wheel. I had to adjust mine when I put the TB on. I've not needed to have my truck aligned.

Jeff

I just installed the adjustable trak bar and bracket and also had to grind a small amount to allow the vert. bolt to pass down thru the cross member. I'm not real crazy about the angle this bolt is on. The cross brace is on an angle with the bolt and it would have taken alot of grinding to make it square(should have had a beveled washer/ I might just make my own). I used the frame to reference my wheels and centered them and then centered my steering wheel with the adj. sleeve.
