Ordered some stage 3's yesterday. It was a total impulse buy.

I have 2 questions,

how much power do you guesstimate I will be putting down with the mods in my sig?

Also, how long till I will be ordering my goerend transmission? :-laf

mine didnt last long when i put my 275's in. and they are only about 40-50hp. stage 3's should be about 100. my trans didnt blow. the torque converter just couldnt hold the power.

Be Careful,

I have the same truck w/ same mods. Do you have gauges? You will notice big gains but watch your boost! and egt.

I just blew my head gasket with this set-up. Could hit 1500* pre turbo in a snap and 50 # boost. I think my waste gate was stuck too.

You might want to think about ARP studs, to hold that head down before it' too late!

A blown HG is a ugly expensive MESS.

I should be back together next tuesday, cause the head gets shaved monday.

I'm guessing 425 or dang close. Your transmission is done. It won't hold it long if it hold it at all.

I've got close to the same setup as you but I have the Jammer 4's. 456/1112 running a little high on the EGT's though.

If you look at my signiture you will see my 99 is almost the same as what you have. I have dynoed with and without the injectors and you don't need to turn off the Comp. With out the injectors it ran 304 hp on a dynojet with the comp on 5/5. That was at May Madness last year so the shop there knows how to dyno the diesels. In Feb I dynoed again this time on a Mustang with the injectors and did 361 hp and 812 ft lbs at 1800 rpm with the comp on 5/5. At the track I can easily push 1500 on the EGTs but it doesn't hurt is for the 1/4 mile and I have never even come close to 50 psi of boost. Usually only around 30 to 32 WOT. And that is with a restricted waste gate.

Make sure you have gauges, plan for a torque converter and have a blast. You will love them. :D

I only hit 261/554 on a dynojet a few weeks back, but I think something was amiss with the dyno, most of the diesel owners were disappointed in their numbers that day.

Your comments about boost has me puzzled. I can hit 34 psi now, according to my analog gauge that I have since removed, and backed up by my x-monitor I recently installed.

Will these injectors cause me to build more boost?

If so, you should be seeing higher numbers, right?

Also, if I read your sig correct you are running a TC and VB not a whole transmission. I was thinking of going this route, since I could use them in a new trans. anyway, right?

Here's my dyno sheet, I thought maybe something was wrong with my comp box, but I swapped my box with a friend, and it's the same as mine.

Something is definately wrong, I have a Banks box (less agressive than Edge) and DDII injectors and I did this. My VP also died a couple months later and the new one feels stronger.

I can't quite read yours. I did NOT have injectors on the one I posted.

Yes I am only running the TC and the VB from ATS. Not the whole trans, I did them at about 30k miles and now have 92k on the truck with no issues at all. I have been running at the track all last year for the DHRA series and never had any slippage.

As far as the boost goes, my gauge is the dual westech and only goes to 35 psi and it shares the pod with the EGT. I am usually pegging or very close to pegging the EGT while on the race track so that is what I pay the most attention to. It is possible I get higher boost but my main concern is watching the temps so I could be off some on that number. Also my truck is a 2 wheel drive so is considerably lighter than your 4x4 and I have much trouble hooking at the track so it is possible that you could be getting more boost I suppose as you could have more load.

When I dynoed on the Dynojet in Vegas I did not have my injectors in then and got 216 hp with the comp box off and 304 with it on 5/5. No torque readings. Altitude will change things too and you would not get as high a number if you are running the stock converter as you will have lock up issues and slippage. I just change from the Triplelok to the 5 Star converter and it has improved my MPH speed an average of 2 mph at the track. 5 discs in there help to use the clutch pack more even before lock up. Now I need traction bars for sure. The darn thing brakes loose the tires on every shift except overdrive. No complaints here. BTW. I tow a Weekend Warrior 5th wheel, 32 ft. Not real heavy but usually around 8k lbs when loaded, at 70 mph easy and still get 13. 1 mpg calculated manually. I LOVE MY TRUCK!!! :D :D :D

Another quick thing. If you can find a Mustang dyno you will show higher numbers. The Mustang has larger rollers and more weight and will load the engine better. You get a slower stronger pull and will show more HP and torque. The GM and Ford diesels like more rpm and so get better results with the Dynojet than the Mustang. I was quite pleased to see 361 HP from my injectors. And I never do more than one mod at a time so I can tell what improvements give my how much hp and torque. I went from 304 dynojet, to 361 on the mustang with only the injectors being different. Let us know when you get it all set up what kind of changes you see. If you do the trans first and can dyno it and then the injectors or vice versa it tells you a lot. :D
