buddy of mine was using x-terrains. most tracks were pretty hard tracks and the tires always hooked. also get 40-50 thousand miles out of them!

It really depends on the tracks your area. Last year at IRP the guys that did well without hop had mild all terrains. Like the BFG All Terrains. A few of the other guys were running to aggressive of a tire and had "to much" traction off the line and hopped. (IRP appeared to be a very very hard clay(?) Track)

Right now I'm looking at getting another set of Yokohama Geolander AT's. They did well for me even at only 1/8th tread left. The Kuhmo Venture MT's I have now may be to aggreassive as I broke the front drive shaft at a pull last fall. To much traction, or as it was pointed out to me... . not enough power.

I know there are a few pulls in my area where a more aggressive tire would be a good thing. BUT I also see where a less aggressive tire would be an advantage. I'm thinking about having 2 sets of tires for this reason.

My BFG MT's worked real good for me last year after a week of rain on a 100% clay track, the thing was soup and some guys were having a hard time getting going. It all depends on track conditions though.

i was talking to a guy from wisconson that has a gas 2wd and they had to run a DOT tire, he sad th super swamper truxus sts work awsome. just my 2 cents

What about a bias ply tire (such as the truxus version) vs. a radial in a street class? I know when I was rock crawling, a bias ply tire aired down a little will always bite harder than a radial. Also the big comp guys running cut tires are usually a bias ply. Although bias ply would not be a perfect street tire, I think it would help a truck hook up better that is making alittle more power. . atleast in this area. Hope I didn't hijack this thread, just a thought!
