What about a bias ply tire (such as the truxus version) vs. a radial in a street class? I know when I was rock crawling, a bias ply tire aired down a little will always bite harder than a radial. Also the big comp guys running cut tires are usually a bias ply. Although bias ply would not be a perfect street tire, I think it would help a truck hook up better that is making alittle more power. . atleast in this area. Hope I didn't hijack this thread, just a thought!
