Alright, I did some searching through the archives about the Prime Loc and fuel pressure loss concerns. While in my opinion, I think (like others) the relocation kit seems like a must have for us valve challenged (12v'ers). I have one sitting new in the box, that I was going to install, but as it turned out doesn't fit my Banks Twin Ram as was stated. So, I have to send it back anyway. But that's not what I want to bring up, thats another issue entirely.

It seems like back when the original accuasations went flying, Prime Loc performed some tests as well as others independently, and while the tests seemed conclusive about a pressure loss, no one ever really proved one way or another that the prime loc was to blame. I read thread after thread about people yanking them off with great concern. What I want to know is: Has anything changed about the issue? Has prime loc modified the design at all (i. e. larger fuel lines)? Was there ever undeniable proof either way? And lastly, are people still using them or are they all on your lawnmowers now?

Sorry if this brings back bad memories, just seems like there wasn't much news on the subject

I still have mine on my "properly valved" '96'. My only concern when I bought it was - would I have fuel jelling problems in the winter since it relocates the fuel filter further away from the warm engine. It was probably just dumb luck, but this was the first winter I haven't jelled up, even though the temps. were worst this winter. I haven't had any fuel problems, even though I'm mildly bombed. It's also nice having the pressure differential gauge to tell me when to change the filter, instead of just guessing.

As you probably read in the archives, mine ended up in the trash - where it rightfully belongs. To my knowledge, nothing has changed. I still feel the same as I did before - the uncertainty of the effects to the VP44 coupled with the fact that Prime-Loc (Ash-Tec)) offered nothing but a bunch of lip service = total waste of good money. Besides, the stock fuel filter is very easy to change on a '99, and works like a charm, and still allows you to hook up pressure gages to monitor the delta-P across the filter for on-condition maintenance.
