VW Reportedly to Offer Passat TDI in North America

Shame, Shame if this was one of you.

I'm thinking about mounting a pyro on our 4640 when I get home from school in a few weeks. The fuel has been turned up and the muffler basically gets burnt off after a few years, so I know it runs hot. Would I want to put the probe in the manifold before the turbo, basically like on the CTD? Also what are the limits for temps? thanks, alonzo

Yes, put it before the turbo and read the real temp as it applies to the pistons.

And on a tractor, I'd say to keep it under 1100 to 1200.

I'm not an expert so I hope others jump in here.

Also, let us know what it reads under normal load and full load.
