Post Your Jeep with Pics

Cool 1st gen, 10 wheeler.

A Clayton. To me, a Polaris is like a Dodge with a Cummins. I have owned several brands, and the 700/800 are by far heavier built. The CV shafts are almost twice as big as my buddies 650 Recon. I'm not nocking any of them I'm just posting my experiences of what I have owned. And sorry but a 4 wheeler with power steering?? Maybe if someone was getting older or prior injury, but if your out rock crawling and can't handle a 4 wheeler, maybe you should buy a Jeep.

I'll tell you what, come on up here to the high country and play on our rocks. That raptor will be in pieces within a day! Sure I love horsepower as much as the next guy, it has its place though. Kind of like the young bull telling the old bull to run down and take a couple cows, the old bull says "Lets walk down and have them all!":D:-laf

All that HP on a quad is only good for spinning tires and burning fuel. I am waiting for a turbo diesel quad though, the new Artic Cat is nice, but large, heavy, no turbo for altitude, and quite expensive... I work my machines, load em, pull em, and head for the continental divide, for a view of the world... I really don't care how fast I get there, as the journey is a big part of the fun... :D

Man... you don't want Cummings in your neck of the woods... . He'll do donuts in your driveway!Take a look at some of his Photo Galleries... you honestly think this guy can't keep up with YOU!I have a 750 KAw. and like the extra power and wouldn't trade cubes for a smaller or lesser bike. Although I do use a lot of gas.

JGoss... I agree with your paridy{spelling?} of Dodge and Cummins. We see a lot of Polaris bikes here and all Buyers have a Love em' or Hate em' relationship with there respective brands. You're right about the CV shafts... I haven't seen them break yet. I will also say they certainly have the most comfortable seat in the business.

I love to ride and can capably handle a 4 wheeler with ease but it was interesting to see the Grizzly guy so spry after putting all those miles in the woods and not be worn out like the rest of us... . including those rding the 800 Polaris. Just posting my observation ... . that is what this thread is asking us to do.

Polaris, Suzuki, Artic cat, Yamaha, ect...

All are good machines, I have liked the Artic Cats for years (basically a Suzuki drivetrain, and cat frames) good heavy duty machine. But, when it came to dealing with our local dealer, he was a jerk, would not even talk about trades, or deal on price for two. So I went down the road to Polaris dealer who was much more versatile and had a good history. Rode the 800, liked it, but too expensive, and found it was good for spinning tires, also large and heavy. I have heard good things about the power steering feature on the Griz, although I hear you pay for it, and if it breaks on trail, it is VERY hard to steer. .

MCummings has some fun I am sure, but, the rocks I ride are not for speed, after a few miles of rocks and grade, speed is not your goal, survival is!

Ahhh... ... ..... it ain't worth fightin' over. I'd love to come ride with you though. Fuels a little too high right now.

The really bad part is, I'm at work and a man reading over my shoulder that has a Ford 6. 0 and an Outlander 650 told me them was fightin' words, too!:-laf

Polaris all the way!!!!!!!! Had mine for a year now and I got nothing to complain about It's second only to my truck

Sky, I agree I like the Yamaha brand for reliabilty. The newATV's are so big and heavy and expensive. . I could buy and fix up a willies jeep for less. I like my older lighter 4x4 wolverine for camping/atv jamboree. My 660 raptor for the dunes. Our Rhino for the wife and daughter to putt around the campground. Go Yamaha!Jeff

I have a 2005 Can Am Outlander 400 I use for work, I average maybe 300 miles a year, so far ZERO problems, about due for some tires though.

Haven't kept up on the new bikes since I bought, BUT the Can Am bikes had some features NO other bike had in 2005, trailing arms on the rear IFS instead of swing arms, inboard disk brakes, the "SKI" frame, visco-lock 4X4 (similar to the old Jeep Quadra Track, steers as good in 4WD as 2WD) and that wonderful high revving Rotax 400.

Can Am has been building stuff for years, Ski Doo, Sea Doo, etc. , but started with a clean slate design for the quads a few years back and while late to that market, built a better machine IMO.

All those ponies are not needed in ATVs, I have two Polaris 330 Magnums, they do anything a big bore machine can do. I have a plow, trailer, winches, the works, they do it all, maybe a little slower, but hey, why do you need to go 70MPH on a quad? Most of the time I am on trails that you cannot go over two-three MPH, crawling over rocks, tree roots, down into ravines. I find that power steering might be nice, but I can still steer on my own. I after riding a 800 Polaris, and a Grizzly, find my little Magnums can manuver in tighter quarters, climb the same hills, and do it much cheaper, on one tank of fuel. Gearing does the work... :D

I agree with CF on this one. My Polaris diesel is slow, but has gobs of torque, which is great for rock climbing, mudding, towing a trailer, etc. I do not need to go 50+ mph.

I am going to go look at a Can-am Outlander MAX for DW today, Its a 850 2up unit with a new engine and has power steering.. Anything I should look for / check, I've always had Honda's but the RINCONS I was loooking are are way to much coin for the age and this one has 2x the umph and can legally ride 2 up in WV so my son can ride safely... its a 2007.

No experience with the one you mention @bcbender but I am on my 2nd Can Am, sold the 2005 in about 2013, no issues. Bought a 2021 450 Outlander this year, no issues, but it still has low hours and miles. I didn't even look at any other brands except Can Am due to my 2005 good experience.

I bought the 08.. that 800 HO is stupid quick, but really comfortable! I think my wife will enjoy it, so now all I need to do is service it and get up to WV for some trail riding. I think it was a much better purchase than the Honda RINCON I was considering as the CVT is very smooth and it is also a 2up legal unit so plenty of space for my son to ride along.
