I recently bought a 2002 QC short bed. This is my first experience

with the Dodge quad cab body style. I've noticed in the last few days a noise coming from the quad door and/or regular door which sounds like the door is vibrating against the rubber molding. Both doors seem to close tightly and the wind noise is minimal. It definitely sounds like something flexing against the rubber molding though. I suppose it could be coming from the power window where it seats against the top of the door frame. It's weird but I sure don't remember hearing it when I test drove the vehicle.

I wanted to check with other TDR members who own quad cabs to see if this is common with this body style. I didn't have a good experience the last time I took a vehicle to the dealer to have squeeks, rattles and/or wind noise checked out. As a result I'm leary of doing it again. The noise is somewhat annoying because it's right by my left ear.

Your comments would be appreciated.

Wwalters,

I've experienced the same thing and found out I need to slam the rear door closed to prevent the "left ear wiggles"! Also apply a little silicon grease to the rubber pads in the upper and lower latching areas helps too.

I've noticed the same thing sometimes as the top latch on the driver's side QC door doesn't always catch. However, if I shut it firmly and keep my hand on the door as I shut it there's no problem.

My mother used to have a Mercedes Benz which would do the same thing on all of the doors, you could not slam the doors and have them latch, but if you kept your hand on them as you shut there was no problem. As I recall the owners manual on the Benz specified that technique.

Good luck!BD

I have a similar vibration I can feel in the floorboard while going down the road. Anyone have any ideas about what that could be from? It seems to happen the worst between 55-65MPH.
