I just got my new gauges and A pillar mount from Genos for my 2001 dually. I went out to the truck to see if the pillar cover lined up okay. It is hard to tell since the pillar cover goes so far down. For sure the truck's tweeter speaker is a good bit bigger than the hole in the gauge mount. Also, the tweeter hole appears to be in a different position.

I am not going to be able to do the install. I plan to have a shop about an hour from me do it while I'm away. For that reason I want to be certain I give them the right parts.

It may just be that I can't line things up as it is, but it sure looks "off". Can anyone tell me if this sounds right, based on your experience? It's probably just me but I figured I'd ask.

Ive got the 3 gauge pod (no tweeter). I had to drill a hole in the original pillar to run the wires through, they didnt all fit in between the two pillars. Depending on what gauges your running you may or may not have the same issue. Also, the little push pins they give you are all but worthless IMO. I ended up drilling bigger holes and using a couple of extra push locks I keep in my tool box for the plastics in my Honda fourwheeler. Never know when I may have a close encounter with a tree:D

I should have mentioned that mine is the three gauge style. The mount I received seems to have the tweeter hole in about the same location as in Gary-K7GLD's picture. That just doesn't seem like it would line up. Also, did your mount have just a hole for the tweeter or was there the plastic screen built in?

The two guage panel fit perfectly in my '01 and two third generation three gauge panels from Geno's fit perfectly also.

Like I said I have mounted hundreds of these on clients trucks and have never had an issue 2nd,or 3rd gens,I dont like layering them. The tweeter hole is not always perfect. I clean up the hole with a round file so it fits perfect.

The Dodge pillar is already too big and creates a blind spot for me, the gauges would make it worse. I use the dash mount.

I purchased my 3 gauge pillar mount from the local Diesel Injection Services and it was made by Auto Meter. Removed the factory pillar and the new one mounted with no problems. The tweeter had a grill and, in my case, the new A pillar cover fit better than the one from the factory. If I remember correctly the whole install took about an hour.

Good Luck!

When I did my 3 gauge it went over the oem. I pulled the screen off and put it on the new one. You have to push the cover down below the dash about 1-2 inch to make them line up. Like diesel4life said use something else besides the push pins. I used screws.
