Bill at what temp should I start thinking about removing the radiator fan? Im in Mich... ... .

As long as you're not in bumper to bumper traffic Nov 1 is usually good. I've driven in temps up to 75 without a problem.

I have driven in 85° temps. Still not a problem.



I just pulled mine off Sat. Between being fanless and A/C compressor disabled I noticed a marked improvement in mileage. Almost as good as with regular summer blend diesel.



Probably the best bomb I have ever done.

I like to pull the A/C clutch replay in the PDC at the same time when I remove the fan. Why spin the compressor if you are not using the A/C. The windsheild does not de-fog as quickly, but it's only slightly longer. This makes a difference in mileage too.



Anybody else do this.

I used to pull the relay till I found this-

Takes about an hour and costs nothing.

Advantage is you can still use your A/C as long as you are moving just by clicking the fan switch to the A/C side.

Could you explain to me why you can only use the AC when you are moving if you remove the two wipers. .

Unless air is moving though the condenser coil the refrigerant will get hot causing the line pressure to go too high which can cause damage.

A/C

I disabled the A/C system and recommend it to everyone even if you don't pull the fan, too. Complete control over the A/C is really important at times.



Fan;

I'm in the fanless group. It usually comes out in October and goes back in around May.

If you run on a dyno make sure to put the fan back in unless the shop has a VERY large blower to keep the Cummins cool.

I don't use one nor know anyone else who goes fanless who does.
