It has been quite cold for NJ (!7 degrees and a lot of wind). My truck has been sitting a lot.
I had to take a trip last week and while out on the highway The truck popped a code. It was TPS over voltage. It was within 15 minutes of starting out. When it did it bucked a bit. I cleared the code and finished my trip without INcedent. When I got where I as going the truck again sat in the cold and high wind again. It did the same thing starting out going home again.
I cleared the code and reset the ECM to stock software. It has behaved since. The only thing that I do note is the dashboard volt meter appears to be reading high. I removed the battery cables and cleaned the terminals. I measured the battery voltage 12. 85 on one and 12. 65 on the other, disconnected. I put it back together and started the truck and drove around the block. Imeasured the voltage idling. 14. 85. Is this too high?
Any thoughts or input would be appreciated.
