Its me again . . still have not recieved my manualls I orderd from the dealer . . Have 1993 D350 CC long Bed,NV4500 conversion,4:10 Dana 70, w/125k miles ... auto meter tach,, what RPm should I be running @65,70 mph. ? I have an Auto meter Tach . . I am trying to set IT!!!!!! where can I find the set RPM for the govenor on this Engine ,, 2000 rpm etc. ?????????? thanks

The manual shows full throttle stop RPM with no load as 2925.



With 4:10's I am not sure what RPM's you would be turning.

At a given speed... you need to know what the rolling diameter of your tires are. Rolling diameter would be measured from the ground to axle centerline.

Use the T5 1983/84 5th gear almost exacactly the same as NV4500... 0. 73 vs 0. 74 5th gear



Hmmm... another interesting thing is the manual list 5th gear (NV4500) as 0. 74:1, but most of the inernet sights list it as 0. 73:1 must be a chevy thing?

Depending on tire size, I'm getting a bit over 2000 rpm using the calculator...

Ok Thanks ... i think I got it figured finally lol... i set the tach @ 2925 with no load . . just after i pulled in to the drive engine was good an warm . . my idle is now 750ish . . I took it out for a drive an mine read just hair over 2000 @65 mph . . my tires are 215x 85R X16" w/410 rear. . again thanks

Most of use use 235's. They fit the fender wells better on our trucks.
