The muffler/tailpipe has finally rusted out on my '01. I tried searching, but there is SO MANY threads out there that it's hard to find up to date info.

Anyone want to suggest an exhaust system for an '01, QC, SWB, NV4500, 2WD, DD3's, Edge Juice with attitude?

I'm looking for something that installs easy, is fairly cheap (aluminized), and doesn't drone like crazy. Quieter the better...

I don't need anything that's going to last forever, as I won't have this truck for too many more years...

Thanks guys!

I was in this same position a few years back on my 95, and went to a industrial truck exhaust shop where they make their own mufflers and picked up a nice muffler and a length of 4" aluminized tubing and all the clamps and reducers needed and didn't spend too much on it considering I completely redid the exhaust from turbo back. How's that for a run on sentence ;)

It's ok to have a run on sentence, as long as you realize it... ha ha ha...

My work is killing me right now, so I don't have a lot of time to do it. I just want to put it up on lift, cut the old one off, bolt the new one on, and drive to work nice and quiet, with some money still left in my pocket...

I have run the flow master kits on my 12V and like them, there only 3. 5" tubing if that bothers you, I dont buy into the 4,5" pipe on a lightly modded motor.

I think the truck is breathing plenty well it has a nice mellow sound makes

34#s of boost and will plant you in the seat with only timing, fuel plate and ex system, it bolts in from the turbo back and hits all the mounts right on and has a stainless tip. you dont get the drone in the cab, just the sweet cummins rattle.

I think there around 4 bills plus shipping I think I was into mine last summer for $475 to my door. if your interested I will find the part number I used.

I can say that is the only exhaust I have ran on last 2 trucks except now have part of it going into a single stack. great price and product. thing to me was the price compared to others out there. and yes that it Rip Rook.

I totally agree with that. With my Mach 1 injectors, Comp and other stuff I'm pushing about 370 hp and the only thing I've done to my exhaust is the muffler eliminator from Geno's. My EGTs stay sane with my loaded camper and the Comp on 5x5 (although some of that is due to my PDR turbo). I don't know how much cooler I'd be with a full 4" exhaust.

Of course, they do sound good and that alone might be worth the price. :D

Oh I agree, I'm not after big exhaust. This motor probably only makes ~425hp or so (Hot Edge Juice, with 100hp injectors).

I don't really see any 3. 5" kits out there though anyway...

Went with a Magnaflow 4" SS on my 99 back in 03. The 4 year old stock pipe rusted out on top of the loop over the rear POS - Anyway its still there and looking good and has outlasted the stock pipe. Was UPS delivered and pretty easy to install. Reciprocating saw to remove the old and hand tools to install the new.

Only thing I really didn't care for was a two pice tail pipe, it had a bell on the pipe right where it goes up over the rear and clamps together. It actually allowed me to "adjust" where I wanted the outlet to be, so it actually worked out well. Forget the price but I think it was around 500?
