Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Quiet/cheap/easy exhaust system?

I posted this in the non-engine section too, but I guess it's kind of an engine component...



The muffler/tailpipe has finally rusted out on my '01. I tried searching, but there is SO MANY threads out there that it's hard to find up to date info.



Anyone want to suggest an exhaust system for an '01, QC, SWB, NV4500, 2WD, DD3's, Edge Juice with attitude?



I'm looking for something that installs easy, is fairly cheap (aluminized), and doesn't drone like crazy. Quieter the better...



I don't need anything that's going to last forever, as I won't have this truck for too many more years...

Me too - but only my tailpipe is rusted out. Does it make sense to replace only that? How good a job should I expect from the run of the mill muffler shops?

ON THE CUMMINS FORUM someone was talking about a gm solenoid upgrade for the 47re transmission he added a 727 pan as well that worked out great for the guy the 727 pan came stock from dodge with drain plugs you can pick one up cheap

I had good luck with xtreme diesel in NJ no tax no shipping big choice, after much shopping all internet prices are about the same. I bought MBRP. from the turbo back. I tried to piece meal it once, if one piece is shot the whole thing is shot.
