Ok,I'm gettin ready to put a rad in my truck with 446K,on the original one. It doesn't leak yet,but the inside has severe corrosion at the fins. I can't believe it can still flow water. I didn't put all the miles on so who knows if it had seen regular coolant changes. My question is,while shopping for rads on-line,i noticed they are selling the same rad part # for my cummins that fits the 360 v-8? How can this be? Is it true? I don't want a rad that is equal or worse to my plugged up one. Anyone know where i can get a reasonably priced one that has aluminum tanks so i can be rid of the plastic? I'd prefer a all aluminum one since it transfers heat better. Thanks for any advice. :D

I have replaced a couple on gassers and don't remember them being nearly as big as the diesel. But then my memory is not so good some times. Good luck on finding one all metal. Yours with 446k lasted a long time.

When I replaced mine, the shop told me that they could get an all aluminum version. Whe I picked it up, it turned out to be for a gasser (360 I assume). I was even able to tell it was not the right one without taking the 'new' one out of the box - that's how big the difference in size actually is between the gasser (360 I again assume) and Cummins. They were only able to get a unit with plastic tanks for a diesel.

Let me see if I have this right. Your have 446k on the original radiator and think there is something better out there? I have 575k on mine and plan on replacing it with a Dodge replacement in the spring because it does have some blockage. Check with mopar4less.
