Thanks in advance for any information. I have a 2010 2500 Laramie and I need to replace the batteries today. I wanted to know if I will need a code for the radio as I bought the truck used and can't find it written anywhere in the manual. I could always pull them one at a time if I had to I guess.

Just replace one battery at a time , leaving one in place and the power to the radio or anything else will never go away!

If you pull them one at a time, just remember that the loose battery cables are live. guard the positive one carefully.

I removed both batteries out of my truck about a month ago to get new batteries and avoid a core charge. No problems with the radio. It is recommended, which I forgot to do, to removed the radio fuse. Don't remember the reason why. Either way, I didn't remove the fuse before removing both batteries and no harm was done. The radio in my truck is an RHR from a 2012 (Jeep I think).

Thank you everybody for the response. Now my task is to locate some descent batteries at a good price. Costco carries Interstate batteries for $136 per but none of my local stores have them in stock. Napa, Auto zone, and O'Reillies all want $200 or better.

For the last 12 years I have used Wal Mart top line and they have 3 year uncond warantee and they have all gone 5 or more years and IMO I do not think you can beat that and we live in real winter country -30 or lower last winter 4 or more times and I have never had to warantee one of them on my 99 - 2500.! I have a Safari van that is hard on a battery and only get 2 years on it but Wal Mart covers that so far. Just my 2 cents for $120 and change each.

$385 for 2x Super Start Extreme+ from Oreilly's. Bought the Diehard Advanced Gold from Sears in 2014 and they were toast after 3 years and 3 months. The diehards replaced the OEM which lasted just under 4 years.

Have a set of Optima Red Tops. Been in there since 3-11, My truck sits sometimes for a month or so, but I keep a tender on them when ever its not running.
