I recently had moisture in my drivers side (projector style) headlight. After consulting with my local body shop friend/owner says “yup, see it all the time, I recommend that you just replace it”. He tried to order a new one from their Ram parts supplier only to find that they are back ordered everywhere. The Ram dealer found one at a dealer near Detroit so they arranged to send it to the body shop dealer to dealer. We are on a cross country trip with our RV it arrived the day before we pulled out. That night after it was installed I discover that the LEDs for the marker light in the side of the new headlight don’t light up. On closer inspection, they don’t light up because they’re not there! I may be OCD but I paid list price of $780 for an OEM part that should be just like the original to get this fixed for our trip. I saved the old one but only for parts and I didn’t want to store it in the RV so I shipped it back home. So what do I do, open a warranty claim with Ram parts? I wouldn’t think it would meet DOT rules missing the side marker lights.
