Rambox opinions wanted

I have been looking at upgrading my 2005 and this rambox option looks pretty cool. I ave not seen one in person.



Anybody got it?

Looked at a 1/2 ton with the Rambox last weekend. .



Don't think that they will open very far if hooked to a fifth wheel camper.



Inside of the body looks like a stepside, straight opening 4' wide with straight sides. The wheel wells don't show as that space is required for the Rambox storage.



Quite a lot of storage room in each one, lighted as well.



I'm not dissing it, just don't think of that until you actually see one.



I wil try to remember to take my camera to town tomorrow and get you some shots, there is one here at the local dealer.

Here are some shots of a Rambox, bear in mind that this is on the short 1/2 ton body, not a 6 1/2 footer.

More, notice the drain plug that each end of the Rambox has.



Also see how wide the top rails of the body are, will be harder to reach anything in the body from the side on a high 3/4 ton.



This truck has the cargo management system as well.

I absolutely love the RamBox. I think it's a much better option than the typical across the bed toolbox that beats the hell out of and ruins the top of the bed rails. Keep hoping they come out with one for the longbed, I'd be in line to buy.

I thought it was only an option on the half tons. My friend has one on his truck. It's pretty nice. I'd like to see it as an option as my next truck won't have as muck interior storage and the tow strap, jumper cables and towing stuff would be better kept outside instead of behind seats anyway.

I like the Rambox concept, for example they are a great way to transport long guns, but I would never rely on them for security of same.

Very cool design imo! I would be more into it if just the side opened up without the cap rail. Im addicted to having a shell/cap/topper on my truck. And my truck is lifted also,so a side storage compartment would be key. I even think the inside of the bed looks great and you wouldnt be loosing space... . its in the compartments instead of flying around in the bed!
