I am thinking about picking up a new set of shocks. I am leaning towards the Rancho shocks because they are adjustable and have a remote control for them. Is the amount of adjustment in these shocks very much, or is it just a gimmick. Also is the remote control for the shocks very well made? There isnt much on the web about them other than commercial sites with no reviews.

I've had the 9000s on for about 3 years and they do make a difference. I keep the fronts on the stiffest setting because of the weight of the Cummins. The backs are usually on softest setting - makes for a less bouncy ride. If I put some heavy stuff in the bed I crank up the rears. The adjustments are definitely noticeable. I researched them alot before I bought and most everything I read said don't bother with the in-cab remote adjustment. Don't waste your $$$, Not worth it and not too dependable so I didn't get that feature. Super easy to change settings - just reach in the wheel well and give the little knob a twist to where you want it. I can change settings on mine in about two minutes flat. :)

I like them a whole lot better than what came on the truck.

I also had a Rancho dual shock steering stabilizer put on at the same time. Uses two Rancho 5000s. Looks very cool and works better than the little POC that came on my '96. Now for a DSS and DT trackbar.

My $. 02

I run them and like them a lot. The adjustments make a big difference. I run the front's mid setting and the rears on #2. If I go off roading I crank them way up and boy does it make for a better ride at least when dealing with large bumps.

I have the 9000's with the in cab controller. The controller has been on the truck for almost 4 yrs and have had no problems with it at all. No leaks and makes it real nice to change shocks with different road conditions. Where I live the freways are terrible and being able to adjust to the road while moving makes it real nice. Just lazy I guess. Any way real happy with the ranchos. good luck,.

I just put them on my truck this last weekend. already put 400 miles on them with the trailer, and I luv em. The only thing is, I wish I had gotten the controller too. It is hard to adjust the front shocks inside the coils. I didn't have the the left and right set the same a couple of times, and I did notice a difference with them being only one setting off. I also had a set on my old 84 chevy. I put 140k on them and never had a problem.
