The name of my LLC would have to be "Acme RV Rentals" in Eureka, MT. I doubt a cop would raise an eyebrow. It might cause a problem if it sat in my yard for 11 months a year and a neighbor complained. On the road they don't know if you are traveling back to Montana or what. The best one I ever saw was on a friends Airstream. We both live in NY and I was complaining about my $70 a year license plate. He has a larger trailer and paid $11 a year in NJ. I asked how he managed to keep a NJ plate in NY for his trailer so he showed me. His NJ registration receipt had his name and New York address printed on it. NJ actually mails his renewal to him in NY! GO FIGURE.

Texas makes it real easy, it is one of the few states that allow you to TAG a vehicle in Texas without a Texas TITLE. Title it in the state where the sales tax is low (or none) then tag it in Texas. Works for thousands of Winter Texans.

Sorry, I don't believe that. A corporation, an LLC is a form of corporation, must have a filing with the secretary of state in the state in which it is incorporated. That filing is public information. The filing must list the agent for the corporation and his or her address of record. Any licensed attorney would know how to serve the agent for the LLC and could sue the LLC and its agent.

Believe what you want. The fact is it is done every day. Do as I suggested and look up incorporating in Nevada on google, and see what you come up with.

It's like the old saying goes "you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink".

That is wishful thinking. MT law has no effect whatsoever on how other states deal with issues of taxation and motor vehicle licensing and permitting.

Never said MT law had any effect.

In the case of a resident of one state who is dodging sales taxes in his home state by registering a motor vehicle to a scam corporation in another state but garaging and operating that vehicle in his home state the home state can decide to deal with the issue anyway the legislature of the home state chooses.

I don't see the Nevada state government as a scam corporation.

If I were a trooper who was being presented with this clever tax dodge I would demand proof by the driver of permission to operate the vehicle owned by a (bogus) MT LLC or might assume it was stolen.

If you were a state trooper you probably wouldn't look twice at it ,cause most don't know any better. Besides that it's not a traffic violation.

Works great, I know someone has his race team set up with one. He has had it for years. We are taxed to death, whats wrong with saving a couple bucks LEGALLY.
